A judge has dismissed a $10 million lawsuit that claimed Justin Bieber and Usher copied parts of a song written by two Virginia songwriters.

Man guilty in crash that killed Usher stepson

A man has been convicted of homicide by vessel in a Georgia jet ski crash that killed R&B singer Usher’s 11-year-old stepson.

A Hall County jury on Thursday also found Jeffrey Hubbard guilty of serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and a boat traffic violation. The summer 2012 crash on Lake Lanier northeast of Atlanta killed Kile Glover and left another teen severely injured.

Investigators have said the jet ski Hubbard was riding hit the children as they were being towed on an inner tube. Glover died of head injuries six days later.

Hubbard’s attorneys argued that what happened was a tragic accident and wasn’t linked to recklessness.

Usher's son released from hospital

Usher’s son, Usher Raymond V, has been released from the hospital after a stint in the ICU, reports People.

The 5-year-old was hospitalized after almost drowning in the singer’s pool on Aug. 5. The child’s arm became stuck in a pool drain after attempting to reclaim a toy.

Usher Raymond V is the singer’s eldest son with ex-wife Tameka Foster. The couple have another son together, 4-year-old Naviyd. Usher has full custody of his children after an acrimonious legal battle with Foster. Though Foster requested an emergency custody hearing following the pool incident, the case was dismissed.

Judge sides with Usher in child custody battle

A judge in Atlanta has dismissed an emergency request by R&B singer Usher’s ex-wife seeking temporary custody of their two children.

Tameka Foster Raymond had requested the hearing earlier this week after their 5-year-old son got caught in a pool drain while in the care of the Grammy winner’s aunt. After a hearing in which both Usher and Raymond took the stand, Fulton County Superior Court Judge John Goger dismissed her request for temporary primary custody and decision-making authority.

Raymond’s court filing said their son “suffered a near-death accident” while left unsupervised at Usher’s home Monday.

Usher and Tameka Raymond married in 2007 and divorced two years later. They went through a lengthy child custody battle, and Usher was awarded primary custody of the boys last year.

Usher's ex-wife granted emergency custody hearing

A judge has scheduled an emergency custody hearing requested by Usher’s ex-wife a day after one of the pair’s sons nearly drowned in a pool at the singer’s Atlanta home.

A lawyer for Tameka Foster Raymond filed the request in Fulton County Superior Court on Tuesday and Judge John J. Goger approved it the same day, scheduling a hearing for Friday. The court filing says the boy “suffered a near-death accident” while left unsupervised in a pool at the Grammy winner’s home.

A lawyer who has previously represented Usher in the custody dispute did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment, and her office said she was scheduled to be in court all week.

Atlanta police have said 5-year-old Usher Raymond V fell to the bottom of the pool and became stuck in the drain on Monday. A housekeeper tried unsuccessfully to free him. A contractor doing work at the home pulled the boy from the pool and performed CPR.

The boy was “conscious, alert and breathing” when emergency medical workers arrived, police said. The boy was in the intensive-care unit of a hospital being treated for his injuries, Tameka Raymond’s court filing says.
