Congratulations are in order for Colombian pop superstar Shakira and Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, who welcomed Milan Piqué Mebarak into their lives Tuesday morning in Spain.
The press release announcing the birth explains that the name Milan “(pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification,” and added that “just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.”
