Drake pitches Kevin Durant, Raptors fined 25k

The Toronto Raptors have been fined $25,000 for comments that Drake, rapper and team ambassador, made about Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant at a recent concert in Toronto. The NBA sees the comments as a violation of its anti-tampering rules, ESPN reports.

ESPN’s sources explained that Drake, who was named the Raptors’ global ambassador in September 2013, performed what the league considers a public recruiting pitch: “Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something,” Drake said, addressing the crowd. “You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.” Following Drake’s comments, Durant was met with an ovation, and the crowd reportedly broke out in a “KD” chant.

The Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, and Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly planning to court Durant, who will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2016.

V. Stiviano has issues with black people and money in newly released video

V. Stiviano — the woman whose recording of Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling using racial slurs led to his lifetime ban from the NBA — can be seen mocking black people in a newly released video.

In a clip obtained by TMZ, Stiviano makes several comments about race and wealth, including: “I don’t understand black people. You give them a little bit of money, they don’t know what to do with it.”

And this: “[Black people] just act crazy….They’re like, ‘Yo, I wanna put extra rims on top of my rims. And my rims are gonna turn around.”

TMZ claims the footage was shot in 2011 as part of a reality show about gold diggers. In the clip, Stiviano — who is black and Mexican — talks about her desire to find a rich man. READ FULL STORY
