Sinead O'Connor gets married for a fourth time

Looks like Sinead O’Connor kept to her word. After announcing on her website that she would be getting married on Dec. 8, the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer wed her boyfriend Barry Herridge (apparently he met her requirements for a new suitor) yesterday, which also happened to be her 45th birthday, in a drive-thru Las Vegas ceremony.

According to People, O’Connor, who wore a pink wedding dress and arrived in a pink Cadillac, tied the knot at the famous Little White Wedding Chapel. (“She cried during the vows and had to wipe her eyes,” a source told People.) Herridge, who O’Connor reportedly met online three months ago, is the Irish pop star’s fourth husband. (O’Connor was previous married to music producer John Reynolds, journalist Nicholas Sommerlad, and musician Steve Cooney, who she divorced in April.) She also has four children from previous relationships. On her blog, O’Connor described her Las Vegas nuptials to Herridge as “Too glorious for words.”

Mindy McCready a 'happy girl' after closed child-welfare hearing

Mindy McCready told reporters after a closed-door child welfare hearing in Arkansas on Tuesday that she was a “happy girl” with the result, reports People. The hearing was called after McCready’s five-year-old son Zander was found hiding with his mother on Friday; Zander’s maternal grandmother Gayle Inge had been his legal guardian. The court’s findings were sealed, but McCready reportedly texted “WE WON!!! ZAN STAYS” to HLN’s Jane Velez Mitchell.

Polish opera star Violetta Villas dead at 73

She was a coloratura soprano who spurned opera for popular music, a Polish singer who became a caberet star in Las Vegas, an artist trapped for years behind the Iron Curtain when she flew home to tend to her dying mother. Singer Violetta Villas, 73, died late Monday at her home in Lewin Klodzki, a village in southern Poland, local police spokesman Pawel Petrykowski told the Associated Press. Prosecutors have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death, he said Tuesday.

Villas was born Czeslawa Cieslak in 1938 to a Polish coal miner’s family in Belgium. A unique talent with a trademark cascade of curly blond hair, Villas had a voice that spanned four octaves. Rather then pursue an operatic career, she preferred popular music, a genre that brought her wide popularity in Poland — where the family returned in 1948 after the World War II — and abroad. Justin Bieber takes paternity test: report

Hoping to disprove alleged baby mama Mariah Yeater, Justin Bieber has taken a paternity test, reports People. Yeater dropped her paternity lawsuit against Bieber, 17, last week, but the 20-year-old didn’t preclude plans to pursue her claim beyond the courtroom. Bieber’s team previously avowed its plan to “vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.” Bieber himself said earlier this month, “I know that I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim.”

Michael Jackson's death bed no longer up for auction

The bed where Michael Jackson died is no longer available for sale. Julien’s Auctions has removed the queen-sized headboard from its auction of items from 100 North Carolwood Drive, Jackson’s last residence. “This item is the only portion of the bed that had been listed for auction, and no part of the bed remains for sale,” company president Darren Julien said Tuesday, adding that he removed the carved headboard seen in evidence photos during the criminal trial of Jackson’s physician from the auction’s lots at the request of Jackson’s estate. Verdict reached in Conrad Murray case

A jury reached a verdict Monday in the involuntary manslaughter case against Michael Jackson’s doctor. Court officials said it would be read at 1 p.m. PST.

During the six-week trial, prosecutors depicted Dr. Conrad Murray as a reckless physician who abandoned Jackson while he was under the effects of the powerful anesthetic propofol on June 25, 2009. Attorneys for the Houston-based cardiologist countered that Jackson was addicted to the drug and self-administered the fatal dose when Murray left his bedroom.

Murray agreed to become Jackson’s personal physician as the singer prepared for a series of comeback concerts in 2009.

Murray did not testify during the trial but previously acknowledged to police that he gave Jackson propofol and other sedatives on the morning the singer died. READ FULL STORY

Justin Bieber's rep calls reported paternity suit 'malicious, defamatory'

In response to reports that a 20-year-old California woman has filed a paternity suit against 17-year-old Justin Bieber — reportedly alleging the two had sex backstage at one of his Los Angeles concerts when she was 19 — the music star’s rep has sent the following statement to EW (emphasis hers):

While we haven’t yet seen THE LAWSUIT, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, AND demonstrably false claims. We WILL VIGOROUSLY PURSUE all available legal remedies to DEFEND AND protect Justin against THESE ALLEGATIONS.

EW could not independently confirm the lawsuit, as paternity actions are sealed in the interest of the child.
