By denying his request for an appeal, the U.S. Supreme Court has determined that director John McTiernan will indeed go to prison, Reuters reported Monday.
In 2010 the Predator director was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of $100,000 for participating in a wiretapping scandal. He pled guilty to giving false statements to the FBI during their investigation of Anthony Pellicano, a somewhat notorious private detective who McTiernan had hired to investigate producer Chuck Roven.
But then McTiernan changed his mind and requested that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reverse his guilty plea. The Ninth Circuit denied the appeal in August, so the Supreme Court was his last hope. McTiernan is expected to begin serving his one-year sentence soon.
