Miami Dolphins wide receiver and former Dancing With the Stars contestant Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson’s wife, Evelyn Lozada (Basketball Wives), has issued her first statement since the football star’s arrest Saturday for allegedly head-butting her.
The AP reports that Lozada is “deeply disappointed” that Johnson hasn’t taken responsibility for his actions. She said she hopes that by taking a stand, “she will encourage other women to ‘break their silence’ on the issue of domestic violence.”
Earlier today, Lozada filed for divorce, her rep confirms to The AP.
The duo were married last month and were set to star on the Vh1 reality show Ev and Ocho, but that program has now been shelved. Since the arrest, Johnson has also been released from the Miami Dolphins.
