Brad Pitt would like a do-over.

The Moneyball actor issued a statement Thursday night clarifying remarks he made to Parade magazine about his marriage to Jennifer Aniston, which ended six years ago.

Here’s what he said originally:

“I spent the ’90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”

While he expressed dissatisfaction with the relationship — far from the worst thing ever said about an ex — the interview triggered a wave of rage in the blogosphere. Here’s the follow-up statement he sent EW:

“It grieves me that this was interpreted this way.  Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend.  It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself – and that, I am responsible for.”

Actor and ’80s icon Anthony Michael Hall was arrested on Monday night after a verbal altercation with his neighbors got too loud. According to the LA Times, law enforcement sources said Hall was taken into custody for disturbing the peace.

It all stemmed from an incident in which the 43-year-old star got into an escalated war of words with his neighbor after he allegedly tore up a plant on a shared plot of land. The article claims that Hall threatened to beat the man “to a pulp” and challenged him to a fight, before the neighbor called the authorities. EW contacted Hall’s rep, who declined to comment on the story.

Mel Gibson settles legal battle with Oksana Grigorieva with $750,000 in child support

Mel Gibson has at last settled the rancorous custody and financial battle with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child, reports People. After over a year of back-and-forth, Gibson agreed Wednesday to pay Oksana Grigorieva $750,000 over the next five years. The money will go toward care and education for Lucia, the former couple’s daughter, who will turn 2 in October. Under the deal, the actor and his ex will split custody equally as Grigorieva and Lucia continue to live in one of Gibson’s homes in Los Angeles. When Lucia turns 18, Gibson will sell the house and put the proceeds in a trust for her. The settlement, which also put to rest a civil suit Grigorieva threatened against Gibson, prohibits both Gibson and Grigorieva from speaking about each other or their relationship publicly. Gibson told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Peter D. Lichtman, “Thanks, your honor, for bringing this case to a reasonable conclusion.”

Sofia Coppola marries longtime boyfriend Thomas Mars in Italy

Film director and Hollywood royalty Sofia Coppola married longtime boyfriend Thomas Mars in Italy on Saturday, reports People. The civil ceremony took place at Palazzo Margherita, the villa owned by Sofia’s father Francis Ford Coppola in a small town called Bernalda, which her grandparents once called home.

The civil ceremony between Coppola (Lost in Translation, Somewhere) and Mars (frontman for French rock band Phoenix, responsible for the 2009 hit “1901″ as well as music for several of his new wife’s films) was overseen by Leonardo Chiruzzi, the mayor of Bernalda. The intimate featured a handful of A-list guests, including George Lucas.

Coppola and Mars have been together for the better part of seven years, though they have only been engaged since May. They already have two daughters together, the youngest of which was born last year. Mel Gibson reaches settlement with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva

Mel Gibson and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva have reached a financial and child custody settlement after a highly public battle that lasted over a year, reports the Associated Press. Details of the settlement have not been announced; final terms for both a monetary agreement and custody of the couple’s nearly two-year-old daughter will be handled in closed hearings.

Last March, Gibson pled no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an alleged incident with Grigorieva in 2010. Two months later, Grigorieva reportedly dropped her domestic violence claim in her court battle for custody of their daughter.

Terms of Gibson’s divorce from his wife of 31 years, Robyn Gibson, were finalized in June; that split should be complete next week.
