On Aug. 28, Joan Rivers was admitted to New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital after experiencing complications during surgery at a clinic. She is now on life support, her family said in a statement released Tuesday.
“On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received,” Rivers’ daughter Melissa said in the statement. “At this time she does remain on life support.”
Though further details of Rivers’ condition have not been made public, the Associated Press reported Rivers went into cardiac arrest while receiving throat surgery the morning of Aug. 28 and was rushed to the hospital soon after.
