Shia LaBeouf escorted from Broadway's 'Cabaret' in handcuffs (Updated)

Not everybody is willkommen.

During the Thursday evening performance of Broadway’s Cabaret, police escorted Shia LaBeouf in handcuffs out of New York’s Studio 54, EW has confirmed. Cast member Danny Burstein confirmed the news, posting on his Facebook: “‘Ladies and gentlemen, this is your places call for Act II. Also, to let you know, Shia LaBeouf has just been escorted from the building in handcuffs.’ Yep, that just happened.” Broadway World first reported the news.

LaBeouf was attending the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Cabaret, starring Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming, when he was allegedly disruptive during the show’s first act. Show reps say LaBeouf was disruptive during Act I and escorted out of Studio 54 at intermission, around 9:15 pm.  A source told ABC News that the actor was smoking in the theater.

Composer Benj Pasek tweeted, “Just saw Shia LaBeouf in handcuffs in tears surrounded by 6 police officers outside of CABARET the musical.”

This isn’t LaBeouf’s first beef with Broadway. The actor was slated to appear in a 2013 production of Orphans opposite Alec Baldwin, but clashes during rehearsal resulted in LaBeouf dropping out of the revival and releasing e-mails detailing his exit.

Update: LaBeouf was released from jail on Friday morning, MTV reports. He pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
