Oscar winner Kate Winslet wed Richard Branson’s nephew, Ned Rocknroll — born Abel Smith — in a secret ceremony in New York earlier this month, People writes. Reportedly, the occasion was so hush-hush that neither Winslet nor Rocknroll’s parents attended — though British news sources have said that Winslet’s Titanic and Revolutionary Road costar Leonardo DiCaprio was there to give the bride away.
“I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock’nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family,” Winslet’s rep tells People. “The couple had been engaged since the summer.”
This is Winslet’s third marriage. Previously, she was wed to director Jim Threapleton, with whom she has one daughter, and director Sam Mendes, with whom she has one son.
