Brad Pitt has donated $100,000 to the Human Rights Campaign “to support the organization’s efforts in campaigning for marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington State.” On the Human Rights Campaign website, Pitt wrote, “It’s unbelievable to me that people’s lives and relationships are literally being voted on in a matter of days…. But that’s the system we have and I’m not going to back down from the fight for loving and committed couples to have the ability to marry. Especially when groups like the Human Rights Campaign are fighting these battles day-in and day-out.”
Pitt is currently engaged to Angelina Jolie. The couple, who have six children together, got engaged in April. Previously, Pitt said they have no plans to marry until all couples who wish to do so are legally able.
