Jennifer Lopez is suing her former chauffeur for more than $20 million, claiming extortion, defamation, and breach of contract, according to court documents filed on Aug. 3. The driver, Hakob Manoukian, had previously filed a suit against Lopez, accusing her of mistreatment and not paying him the agreed-upon salary. Lopez’s cross-complaint denies those charges, and says that Manoukian, who originally worked for Mark Anthony and chauffeured Lopez for eight years, demanded $2.8 million “or he would disclose sensitive and personal information that he had allegedly overheard while driving Ms. Lopez.” According to Lopez’s suit, he threatened to share allegedly damaging information with the authorities if his demands were not met, despite the confidentiality agreement he signed when he agreed to work for Lopez.
