After Natalie Portman and partner Benjamin Millipied showed up wearing rings on those fingers at Sunday’s Oscars, buzz built that last year’s Best Actress had married her ballet choreographer fiancé of more than a year. According to People and several other sources, Portman and Millipied have made it official, though Portman’s rep declined to comment on the status of her client’s relationship when EW called to confirm the news.
Portman and Millipied met on the set of Black Swan, for which she won her Oscar and he served as a choreographer. She announced in December 2010 she was engaged to Millipied and expecting a child. The next month, Portman famously thanked her fiancé in a chuckle-filled Golden Globes speech, noting that his character was the one in the film who didn’t want to sleep with her. She joked, “It’s not true! He totally wants to sleep with me!” The couple welcomed son Aleph last June.
