Tyler, the Creator denies arrest after West Hollywood show
The rapper known as Tyler, the Creator was arrested after authorities say he got rowdy following a show at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Arthur Famble Jr. said the rapper was arrested Thursday night after he appeared in a show by his group, Odd Future, and destroyed the Sunset Strip nightclub’s electronic soundboard. The sergeant said Roxy security guards called deputies, and the 20-year-old rapper, whose real name is Tyler Gregory Okonma, was booked for investigation of felony vandalism. He was released early Friday on $20,000 bail.
As Okonma was being led to a squad car, the crowd leaving the Roxy became angry and rushed toward deputies, Famble said. Additional deputies were called in to disperse the crowd, and Sunset Boulevard was shut down for about half an hour. No one was hurt.

Alec Baldwin cools plans for mayoral run
Alec Baldwin seems to backing away from plans to possibly run for mayor of New York City, telling director Stephen Daldry in his “Here’s the Thing” podcast that he’s lost his enthusiasm for the process. “I’ve lost my appetite,” he said to Daldry, who teased the 30 Rock actor that the new podcast was simply a vehicle to launch Baldwin’s political career. “Plus the people that are running for mayor — I know this is terrible — I look at them and I don’t see myself in that crowd. They’re like a guy on a date that you can tell he just can’t wait to get his hand up your blouse before even the lights go out in the theatre. They’re all just so horny for it. Horny for their own ascension.”
Baldwin said to enter politics would mean he’d basically be giving up “this wonderful life I have now in exchange for the chance to ‘really change things?’ Yeah, I’m not quite sure you can anymore.”

The imprisoned son of actor Michael Douglas has been sentenced to spend four and a half years in prison beyond the five years he already is serving for drug offenses. The sentence was announced Wednesday by Federal Judge Richard Berman in Manhattan. The judge said the violations included four instances in which a lawyer smuggled drugs into prison for Douglas in her bra.
The 32-year-old Douglas asked the judge to give him another chance at treatment. Berman recommended he be sent to a prison facility that can offer him drug treatment and mental health care. Douglas was first arrested in July 2009 for dealing methamphetamine from a high-end Manhattan hotel.
