Ethan Zohn diagnosed with cancer again
Former Survivor winner Ethan Zohn’s cancer has returned. People reports the reality star — who was in remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma — was informed by doctors Sept. 14 that the cancer is in his chest. But there is some good news: The cancer hasn’t spread. “It’s localized in my lung area,” Zohn told People. “But it’s good that it’s not all over my body.”
Zohn has started chemotherapy, and plans to undergo a stem-cell transplant from one of his brothers. The Survivor is keeping his hopes up, and even plans to run in the New York City Marathon Nov. 6. “The doctors think I’m crazy but they gave me the okay,” Zohn told People. “Cancer isn’t going to slow me down. I want people to know that you can still live a fulfilled life and move forward.”

Looks like Lindsay Lohan got lucky. Though the actress was facing significant jail time going into today’s probation violation hearing, Judge Stephanie Sautner only slapped the actress with 30 days in jail. That’s not to say Lohan is completely off the hook: Following her stint in the county jail, the actress must perform 53 days of community service at the L.A. County morgue over the course of three months. “You need a structure,” Sautner told Lohan. “And this is a structure.” READ FULL STORY »
British court rules Julian Assange to be extradited back to Sweden
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange lost his appeal against extradition to Sweden to answer sex crime allegations, but said Wednesday he will now consider whether to take his protracted fight to Britain’s highest court. High Court appeal Judges John Thomas and Duncan Ousely rejected Assange’s claims that it would be unfair and unlawful to send him to Scandinavia to be questioned over the alleged rape of one woman and the molestation of another in Stockholm last year. The 40-year-old has denied wrongdoing, and insists the case is politically motivated by those opposed to the work of his secret-spilling organization. “We will be considering our next steps in the days ahead,” Assange said outside the court. In response to reports that a 20-year-old California woman has filed a paternity suit against 17-year-old Justin Bieber — reportedly alleging the two had sex backstage at one of his Los Angeles concerts when she was 19 — the music star’s rep has sent the following statement to EW (emphasis hers):
While we haven’t yet seen THE LAWSUIT, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, AND demonstrably false claims. We WILL VIGOROUSLY PURSUE all available legal remedies to DEFEND AND protect Justin against THESE ALLEGATIONS.
EW could not independently confirm the lawsuit, as paternity actions are sealed in the interest of the child.
