Kris Humphries files for annulment, claims fraud

Hoping to avoid a protracted legal battle in his divorce from Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries has filed to annul their 72-day marriage on the ground of fraud, reports People. The magazine’s source claims Kardashian may be behind the move: “She always wanted an annulment but attorneys were against it so she’s happy that both parties agree now.” If Humphries’ petition is carried out, the marriage will be erased from all legal record, as if it had never existed. If the petition does not go through, Humphries has stipulated he would prefer legal separation to divorce at this juncture.

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler engaged... for the second time

Second time’s the charm? Kristin Cavallari is engaged once again to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. The former star of The Hills tweeted today: “This time its official..Jay and I are engaged again :) .”

The couple first got engaged in April. They broke up in July. People reported Cutler and Cavallari, however, were “working it out” after the football player appeared at live tapings of Dancing With the Stars in October, when Cavallari was a contestant.

Oprah's South African girls school set to graduate first class

Mpumi Nobiva was raised by her grandmother in a neighborhood beset by poverty and crime after her mother died of AIDS. Now one of the first to graduate from Oprah Winfrey’s school, she is headed to college in North Carolina.

Winfrey spent $40 million to give her girls a campus with computer and science labs, a library and a wellness center. None paid tuition. The students are high-achievers, often from communities where schools are struggling to overcome the legacy of apartheid. And as the South African school year nears its end, all 72 members of the school’s first graduating class have been accepted to universities in South Africa or the United States. Kourtney Kardashian pregnant

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are anticipating a new reality-show co-star. The parents of little Mason announced that Kourtney is pregnant with their second child, with the eldest Kardashian sister telling E! News, “Scott and I are so excited to announce that we are expecting our second child and are thrilled to be expanding the love in our family.”

Comedian Patrice O'Neal, 41, dies

EW has confirmed that comedian Patrice O’Neal has passed away after a long-term battle with diabetes. The news came today from the official Twitter stream of The Opie & Anthony Show, on which O’Neal was a regular guest. His booking agent Matt Frost released this statement:

It is with terrible sadness we must report that Patrice O’Neal has passed away this morning at 7:00am due to the complications of the stroke he suffered on October 19. Many of us have lost a close and loved friend; all of us have lost a true comic genius. His mother, who was also his best friend, was at his side.  Patrice is survived by his wife, Vondecarlo; his step daughter Aymilyon, sister Zinder, and his mother Georgia. The family wishes to thank all of the fans and friends who have expressed an outpouring of love and support for Patrice these past weeks. We ask that you please respect the family’s request for privacy at this difficult time.

Known for his dark, confrontational humor, he was featured on the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn, The Office, and Scary Movie 4. O’Neal was hospitalized earlier this year after suffering a stroke.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard are expecting a second child

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard’s brood will soon welcome a new addition. According to People the Dark Knight actress’ reps confirm that she and Sarsgaard, who married in 2009 and have a 5-year-old daughter named Ramona, are expecting their second child.

Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles is married

Jennifer Nettles has found her other other half. People reports that Nettles, half of the country music duo Sugarland, married her boyfriend of two years, entrepreneur Justin Miller, who appeared in their music video for “Want To,” over the holiday weekend. It’s the second marriage for the 37-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, who wore an Alexander McQueen gown to the intimate ceremony that took place in the “foothills of the Smoky Mountains” in Tennessee. Guests to the wedding included Nettle’s bandmate Kristian Bush.

Tobey Maguire settles poker lawsuit for $80,000

Tobey Maguire has agreed to pay $80,000 to settle a lawsuit over illegal poker profits he made while sitting across the table from a convicted Ponzi scheme operator, according to the Associated Press. Maguire was one of several celebrities who regularly played cards with Brad Ruderman, a hedge fund manager who sits in a Texas prison for swindling millions from investors. Since Maguire reportedly won $300,000 in profits, he was named with 21 other people in a lawsuit filed by the trustee attempting to locate Ruderman’s missing millions. According to court documents filed in bankruptcy court, the $80,000 payment will remove Maguire from further litigation in the matter, pending a judge’s approval.

Anne Hathaway engaged to longtime boyfriend

Rachel Anne Hathaway getting married. Anne Hathaway is engaged to boyfriend Adam Shulman, People reports. The couple have been dating since 2008.

The One Day star began dating Shulman shortly after her very public split with Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri, who pled guilty to fraud charges. A wedding date for Hathaway and Shulman has not yet been announced.

Miley Cyrus caught on video making a 'stoner' joke at her birthday party

Last week Miley Cyrus celebrated her 19th birthday party. In a video from the event obtained by The Daily, the singer thanks her friends and makes reference to the cake, which features an image of Bob Marley. Cyrus jokes: “You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Miley cake. You know you smoke way too much f—ing weed.” Friend Kelly Osbourne then says, “I thought salvia was your problem, Miley!” (That’s a reference to a minor controversy from last year, when Cyrus was caught on video smoking the drug salvia.)

In response to the uproar over the new video, Osbourne took to Twitter: “let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE! the cake was also A JOKE! it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called ‘friends’ would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!” Osbourne later added: “u guys if @MileyCyrus is not recording/filming/touring she is works everyday how could she possible do all that if she was a stoner! #think”

Update: A rep for Cyrus echos Osbourne, telling EW that the cake was indeed a joke and that Cyrus was only being sarcastic in response.
