Authorities in Hungary raided the set of Brad Pitt’s zombie movie World War Z today and seized a cache of weapons, People reports. The police took possession of 85 weapons that were being stored in a Budapest warehouse, including AK-47s and sniper rifles that authorities say were equipped with live ammunition and had not been rendered fully inoperable, creating what they maintained was a potentially deadly safety hazard. A publicist for the film, which is slated to hit theaters next year, said that the production was working with the police to resolve the matter.

Wait-what?
My best friend has just announced her wedding with a great man who is a cele+brity!
They met-via { millionaireluv|С’σ`м }
It is nice club for rich men or pretty girls mate.
You do not need to be wealthy or famous, but you can meet your true love, it’s worthy a try.
Apparently that T.I. singer is in that World War Z movie.
Swing and a miss…
A few years ago, I worked with this guy whose last name was Pitt, but he said he wasn’t related to the actor Brad Pitt, as far as he knew. That 2 looks like a Z.
It is a Z
What? They didn’t have AK-47′s in WW2?
/sarcasm/
I love this comment. It’s like a combination of the most hilarious parts of my dad trying to use the “interwebs” and trying to tell a story all rolled into one inane ramble.
Did you hear about this? Authorities in Hungary raided the set of Brad Pitt’s zombie movie, World War Z, and walked away with over 85 high powered guns. Yeah, yeah. Brad Pitt then became the first Hollywood liberal ever to whine about his 2nd amendment rights. (Polite applause is heard)
He does not have 2nd Amenment rights in another country.
True. But the whole world is America? Right?, Right?
The production crew went to far this time using live ammunination. Someone could get hurt brad pitt or civilians.
Pretty sure Brad Pitt IS a civilian
But I though celebrities were gods?? Say it ain’t so!!!
This. lsn’t live ammo unheard of on a set? Even if they were stored offsite, that DOES sound dangerous and irresponsible. Of course, we don’t yet have both sides, but if true…
Did what happened to Brandon Lee not teach Hollywood anything?
uh, i am sure it did as brandon lee was not killed by a regular live round of ammunition and that was in the US where laws are different. Way to stretch for a connection dude
Yes, because of course Hollywood should have only learned to prevent *exactly* what happened to Brandon Lee. G-d forbid they learn gun safety and use common sense in all situations.
Also, who cares where this happened? This is hardly the first time an American movie has been shot overseas and if this is coming out of a major film studio they have at least one lawyer specializing in international laws. If they’re guilty of what they’ve being accused of then they should have known better.
And Jon Eric Hexum.
Something doesn’t seem right about all this. Making sure weapons are unloaded is standard procedure on a movie set…to have a WAREHOUSE full of loaded weapons for a movie is unheard of. Either somebody messed up BIG TIME or we’re not getting the full story…
I’m sure they use live ammo in films fir shots where all kinds of non-living things are getting riddled with bullets. I’m sure it is all shot while no actors are in the line of fire or even on-set. When you see a room or a car get all shot up, that’s not cgi. They use live ammo all the time on shows like Deadliest Warrior. My guess though would be that this stash was for some second unit crew in charge of filming those scenes where they need live ammo.
THAT makes sense. Never considered that. Thanks for the perspective!
