Can the man who won the million-dollar fan vote during Survivor: All-Stars now win the vote of the citizens of Indiana? We may soon find out. Tie-dye proponent Rupert Boneham announced today that he is considering running for governor of the Hoosier State. On his website www.rupertforgovernor.com, the 47-year-old three-time Survivor contestant noted that he has formed an exploratory committee and will make a decision on whether to enter the race in the coming weeks.

“I have spent my entire adult life serving my community and I see an opportunity to make a difference for Indiana,” wrote Boneham, referencing his youth charity, Rupert’s Kids. “While surveying the current choices for our next Governor, I do not see anyone that has an understanding of what daily life is like for many Hoosiers nor anyone who appears to understand the harm that misguided government policies are doing to our communities. It is obvious that career politicians are not the answer because they are often the problem. I will be evaluating whether or not hardworking Hoosiers are ready for a new voice with new ideas.”

Hey if Minnesota can elect Jesse Ventura and California can elect Arnold Schwarzenegger, why not? Not saying he’d be good but you never know…

When will people Finaly get it through their heads that the Republican party as a whole is Only interested in serving ONLY BIG BUSINESS interest, and NOT by any means whatsoever the interests of the lowly AVERAGE or COMMON CITIZEN. It’s an undeniable fact. Those who insist on ignoring it will eventually certainly suffer the consequences.

I personally prefer tea to kool aide. Your ignorance is showing.

    • d$

I prefer to work very hard to make a living for myself, my wife and my newborn, and also in order to make sure I can give enough money to people like wgalvira, who probably doesn’t work. I mean, how are you going to get free health care if people like me don’t pay for it? Your welcome, wgalvira, since you’ll benefit from my success. Signed, a voting member of the Republican party who is an average citizen.

      • wgalvira

Oh ok . I make $ 105 k a year. Producing real products. Not by engaging in scams. And I only took 2 sick days all of last year and 1 this year . I defy any hypocritical and or ignorant republican to show facts as to what makes republicans so great . Too bad there are so many who just love to be ignorant . Such individuals can drop dead for all I care.

Any other ” Tea Bagged ” piece of crap party member have any more stupid things to say on here?

When will the democrats learn that throwing government (read taxpayers)money at problems will not fix anything. Only when we completely support businesses WHICH PROVIDE JOBS, will the economy recover. President Regan really understood that, and even though he was ridiculed for supporting business, he kept on that course. Consequently, his presidency was the most prosperous time for EVERYONE that this country had seen in a long time, and more prosperous than any since. Our jobs come from business.

      • c jones

Got facts to back that up? Clinton’s 8 years were far more prosperous and he left office and the country with a financial surplus instead of debt.

Reagan went from about 1 trillion in debt to 4 trillion.

Bush went from about 4 trillion to 10.5 or more trillion in debt.

Obama has added about 3.5 trillion in 3 yrs. But He was also handed the worst economy since the depression in the thirties. (Also Bush left with 750,000 jobs lost in his last month, while Obama got us back to getting jobs again, though admittedly not MANY new jobs, it’s still a plus in the column each month.) And Obama also saved the US auto industry. Worth noting.

And I have a business. Jobs come from demand, not business. Give more money to the rich and big business and there is no demand. They already have what they need. Give it to the poor and middle class and there WILL be demand because they have to spend it on necessities like rent and food and gas, etc.
        And then jobs will follow.

      • June

@C Jones – you might wanna hold off on your comments regarding Obama’s job report. We are just waiting to see what this months numbers are and frankly it’s looking like they will be in the negative which means a full blown recession on the vacationing Obama’s watch.

I don’t know why you Dems don’t understand that without big business the US would be a third world country.

      • wgalvira

First of all , Reagan liked to fire people a lot more than creating jobs. Second of all,Reagan is another republican who ended his term with a crappy economy for America as a goodbye present. Third of all,for corporations ( spoiler alert for some people) are NOT INTERESTED IN CREATING JOBS! Their only objective is profit .And therefore are more interested in not having to pay workers by creating jobs.

Scary thought. His name should be Rupert Bonehead.

  • Hey Zeus

Would Indiana become the Pirate state if he won?…

    • binky

I hope so. I always wanted to be a pirate.

  • Joe

This is ridiculous. Reality “stars” need to go away.

    • Ba ba Hoey

      except for Boston Rob.

    • Jeremiah

He is not only just a reality star… he is a successful business owner in Indiana and has run a very helpful charity called Rupert’s Kids for well over a decade now.

  • orville

Oh cripes. I hope not. I live in Indiana and our elections can get circus-like enough without Rupert throwing his hat into the ring.

    • Clete

      Based on the picture, he doesn’t appear to have a hat…or a razor…or a barber…or any clothes sense…or

  • Wil Davis

I believe Rupert could do as good a job as the one that holds this office at this time, if not even better…..Hope the big dollars $$’s dont’t get to him. Stay true to yourself Rupert and you will do GREAT.
    Wil, Indiana
