John Mellencamp is officially a free cougar. His divorce with estranged wife Elaine Irwin is now official, People reports. The couple had been married 18 years; they will share custody of their 17- and 16-year-old sons.
The settlement agreement states that the couple negotiated “an amicable settlement of all issues involving property and maintenance rights, the custody and support of their children, and all other issues.” Since breaking up with Irwin, the singer has been dating Meg Ryan.

Somehow I can’t picture Meg Ryan settling down in Bloomington Indiana. This is gonna get ugly. John has always stuck to his midwestern roots, and she’s SOOOO west coast/east coast.

no it wont last becuz john has a history of marriage and relationship hopping. guess thats all he knows. how anyone can keep up with him is beyond me. meg? well she should of left john alone to try to work out the differences with elaine. but she wants to resuce john and john let her. two codependents make a wonderful couple. no it wont last.
