Commercials director and visual effects specialist Michael Gracey will direct Disney’s Snow White revisionist feature, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The live-action project, now called The Order of the Seven, has been in the works since 2002. This film — which, to be clear, has nothing to do with either Universal’s upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman (starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron) or Relativity’s still-untitled Snow White film (starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts) — will be set in China and “is evolving into an original action film, with the Snow White elements being minimized.”

Who else is sick of Snow White movies already? If we’re going back to fairy tales, adapt Beauty by Robin McKinley into a movie. It’s a beautiful adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, and could be made into a fantastic film.
Ooh, I agree. McKinley’s Beauty is a great book that Disney could really work with. I mean, I admit to being a sucker for fairy tale movies, but why so much love for Snow White? The studios have plenty of other classics to pick from.

So why would you call it a “Snow White movie” if you’re going to minimize the elements of that story and set it in China? As evidenced by the two Snow White stories already in production, any link to Snow White is completely unnecessary.
They’re counting on the minor link to sell tickets.

Since this is a Disney movie, I would rather see a live-action remake of the original animated movie (like what they did with 101 Dalmations but staying truer to wardrobe, sets, etc.). Would be cool.

3 Snow Whites? Because, you know, there aren’t like hundreds more fairy tale stories out there.
I remember when this movie was first announced YEARS ago. Glad that it is finally getting off the ground, but the timing couldn’t have been any worse (seriously, 2 Snow White movies was too much, 3 is just ridiculous).
Thank you, but I think we are okay. If it gets rough, we have one oil filled radnait heaters, a small space heater, an electric oven, and the flash cure unit from my silk screen press (basically an oven element on a stand).

Im kinda glad they didn’t do this because it looks like one of those diosiointpng kid/young teen movie. They also mixed ocrania of time with twilight princess (spider thing). If they make a movie its gonna be ATLEAST PG-13, I mean look at the 7 temples.. the creepest memories any kid will have of him childhood are in those temples.
Don’t forget the tv show based on snow white starring ginnifer goodwin coming this fall. I’m sick of all these too
