A New York man was arrested earlier today for allegedly breaking into The Ed Sullivan Theater, where David Letterman tapes CBS’ Late Show, according to the New York Times. The 22-year old, James Whittemore, was charged with burglary and criminal mischief, and will make a court appearance later today.

Kate Hudson gives birth to second child
Kate Hudson gave birth to her second son in Los Angeles on Saturday, according to People. The Oscar-nominated actress, 32, is engaged to the baby’s father, Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of Muse. The baby, whose name has not been announced, joins big brother Ryder, 7, Hudson’s child with the Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson.

CORRECTION: As the result of an error by a freelance reporter at an event in California yesterday, EW.com erroneously attributed a series of remarks to actor Jonah Hill.
Upon a review of the tape recorded conversation between the reporter and Mr. Hill, it is now clear Mr. Hill did not state the exact remarks attributed to him by the reporter and subsequently published by EW.com.

Celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Barbra Streisand and Quentin Tarantino gathered at a Los Angeles theater Saturday to celebrate Brits in the biz and – if they were lucky enough — to rub elbows with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Kate wore a lilac Alexander McQueen gown and jewels from the Queen while William donned a black tuxedo for the event dubbed Brits to Watch that was sponsored by the British Academy of Film and TV Arts. The event, which also attracted celebs like Blake Lively, Jason Bateman, Kristin Chenoweth, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Paul Rudd, Jennifer Garner and Jack Black was held at the Belasco, a classic theater located in an otherwise seedy section of downtown L.A. Fire forces early end to Rihanna concert
Rihanna’s July 8th concert at the American Airlines Center in Dallas ended early after a fire broke out, which, according to CNN, started from pyrotechnics that were part of the show. No concertgoers were injured from the fire, which reportedly started on the stage but sent sparks toward the floor. Rihanna responded to the fire on her Twitter account saying, “Glad u guys are safe!!! I promise I’ll be back!!!” See video taken from the audience and posted on YouTube after the jump. Betty Ford dead at 93

CNN is reporting that Betty Ford, the widow of late President Gerald Ford and a co-founder of an eponymous addiction center in Southern California, has died. She was 93.
Ford died Friday evening with family at her bedside. Her husband, Gerald Ford, passed in 2006. Nancy Reagan, the widow of late President Ronald Reagan, called Ford “an inspiration to so many through her efforts to educate women about breast cancer and her wonderful work at the Betty Ford Center.”
After leaving the White House in 1978, Ford entered the Long Beach Naval Hospital to be treated for alcohol and prescription painkiller abuse. She helped to open the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage in 1982.
She earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1991 and the Congressional Gold Medal eight years later.

Rapper Bow Wow discusses fatherhood, suicidal thoughts
Rapper Bow Wow, who was selling records and making movies when he was in his early teens, is a father. In a reflective letter to his fans posted on his official website, the 24-year-old artist revealed that he has a 3-year-old daughter. “For the past 3 years i been batteling life. Even thought about taking my own. I felt like as a kid i did everything and saw everything too fast which spoiled my adult years. I felt as if i had no purpose to live(Thinking selfishly) until god gave me the illest gift of my life,” he wrote. “My lil girl is getting BIG fast. i love every minute of it. She inspires me to go harder. Even made me treat my mother better, its like it made me into a man over night.”
Bow Wow does not live with his daughter or her mother, and that has become a source of frustration. “I want her to live with me so bad. Jus us 2,” he wrote. “Thats my dream man but fellas yall know how it go. Baby gotta stay with they momma and all dat bull. I hate that! So i have to fly 5 hrs away to see her. I find myself going into my i phone book jus lookn at pix of her. Sometimes i tear up cuz i just cant believe it brotha be emotional. All in all im good.”

Film scholar Robert Sklar dies
Robert Sklar, who taught generations of New York University film students how the medium reflected and shaped American culture and society, died on Saturday in Barcelona after a bicycle accident, according to the New York Times. He was 74. Sklar’s seminal work, Movie-Made American: A History of American Movies, was published in 1975, and it’s never gone out of print.

Willie Nelson plea deal nixed
A Texas judge rejected a deal that would have allowed Willie Nelson to plead guilty to marijuana possession and pay a $500 fine, according to the Associated Press. Hudspeth County Judge Becky Dean-Walker said that she nixed the prosecutor’s offer because he “doesn’t do that for anybody else.” Nelson could face up to a year in jail for the misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, stemming from his November arrest. Nelson’s lawyer did you immediately respond to a request for comment.

Natalie Portman's baby now has a name
Stop the presses: We have now learned the name of Natalie Portman’s first child with fiancé Benjamin Millepied. The actress’ son, who was born in June, is named Aleph, which, in Hebrew, can also be spelled “Alef,” People reports. The name evidently means to “primordial one that contains all numbers” in Judaic Kabbalah.
