Piers Morgan receives apology from British MP

Filed under: Crime, News, TV and tagged: ,

British Member of Parliament Louise Mensch has apologized to Piers Morgan for implicating him in the News of the World phone hacking scandal, reports The Guardian. The Conservative MP claimed in July 19′s Parliamentary hearings with Rupert Murdoch and his son James that Morgan was fully aware of, and in fact a participant in, the phone hacking. Mensch wrote a letter to John Whittingdale, the chairman of Parliament’s Culture, Media and Sport Committee, to officially recant her statements against Morgan, explaining that she misread news coverage based on Morgan’s book The Insider. Morgan, who has maintained he was not involved in phone hacking, accepted Mensch’s apology via Twitter.
