Bradlee Dean, a metal rocker and founder of a Christian foundation called You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International, Inc., is suing Rachel Maddow and MSNBC for $50 million on the grounds of defamation. In Aug. 2010, Maddow quoted Dean’s radio show on a segment of The Rachel Maddow Show:

“Muslims are calling for the executions of homosexuals in America. This just shows you they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible of the Judeo-Christian God, but they seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do, because these people are livid about enforcing their laws. They know homosexuality is an abomination.”

Dean says that Maddow deliberately ignored a disclaimer he issued that said that Dean himself was not calling for gay people to be killed, and that the fallout from the segment has caused serious harm to him and his ministry. However, Maddow actually did read the disclaimer after she read Dean’s statements. MSNBC has responded with a brief statement: “This suit is baseless and we stand by our reporting.”

He said it caused serious harm to his ministry. Excellent. Exactly what Rachel wanted and what this guy deserves.

Disclaimer or not, HIS disclaimer or HER disclaimer of his “disclaimer”….His Speech Is HATE SPEECH and it is DANGEROUS. If his ministry of hate is damaged its his own fault.

“fallout from the segment has caused serious harm to him and his ministry”… I’m guessing that his being an ignorant jack@ss might have contributed.

  • abadstroller

Maybe what caused serious harm to his ministry is that people are beginning to see it for what it really is…narrow-minded and homophobic. Humph…suing people for calling you out for who you really ARE.

Well if the 10 people that watched Rachel Maddow’s show wiped out the 10 people that follow his industry. I’d say they’re even.

    • Classy!

I watch her show every night.

  • Amused

Someone watches MSNBC? Now that’s shocking.

    • abadstroller

I’m just guessing…that his people and MSNBC viewers do not share the same demographics, but what do I know.

What is Rachael’s mail address? We can’t seem to find it anywhere…and we want to write a paper letter since we don’t tweet or twitter. Thank you. Eleanor McLaughlin

Pro tip to all the idiots reading this… “lol she looks like a guy lolololol” is not only not an original thought, it also shows you’re an idiot. Go back to 8th grade.

    • Who craig

I like how as soon as one person makes a comment like that, there’s a lot more just like it. Either it’s the same person writing, or people just copy what others day.

  • wgalvira

I always love it when some idiot says something idiotic publicly and then complains that people talk about it.

Good for her for calling hate speech out. Nowhere in the Bible, Old or New Testament, does it call for the killing of homosexuals. And I doubt the Koran does either. I’m a Christain, and I demounce this “preacher” as a hatemonger. Let him sue me, too.

People who promote hatred deserves what they get. We’re not going back in the closet or EVER going away, so get the eff over it.
