A jury has convicted former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich of attempting to sell President Obama’s Senate seat, reports the Associated Press. The embattled politician was convicted on all charges concerning selling the seat after a jury deliberated for nine days. (The former governor faced 20 charges; the jury had decided on 18 of them after being deadlocked on two charges.) Prior to the jury’s decision, Blagojevich denied on the stand that he had done anything wrong, regardless of FBI wiretaps that indicated he was offering the seat up as a “f—ing golden” opportunity. The tapes led to his arrest in December 2008; after the scandal, Blagojevich had paved a short-lived career as a reality star, appearing on a season of Celebrity Apprentice. The former governor now faces up to 300 years in prison.

Theres no glory in what this man did and he deserves no praise. He couldnt figure out how to get away with this crime so I highly doubt he will figure a way to run a prison! Anyone this stupid should be arrested!
It would be nice if, for once, the politicians who come out of Illinois weren’t complete and total criminals and tools. As of yet, we have no one of character nor substance to brag about. Every one of them has been a criminal and/or a complete tool!

Why is this entertainment news? Stop it with the politics. I come to EW for fun, light reading. Not everyone wants to argue politics all the time. Good grief, the world is depressing enough without having to read all the hate being tossed around by both sides.
What do you mean, not entertainment? He will probably end up with his own reality cooking show or be let out long enough to appear on American Idol or make the late night talk-show circuit.
Prosecute the ones that have really sold us out. This man hasn’t done any damage to us. This is just a front to make us think they are cleaning or will clean house of any wrong doers. Liers.
Until recently the only charges against Blago I was really aware of were the charges involving Obama’s Senate seat, so I was somewhat sympathetic to him. Then I found out that he had attempted to extort campaign contributions from a Children’s Hospital. Stealing money from sick children!!! What a sleazeball. I hope he rots in prison.
