skype basically sucks now. the quality of service has dropped significantly since EVERYONE started using it so I’m excited to see Microsoft upgrade the level of service.

Well I guess that is it for Skype.. just like Netflix doesn’t work on anything else other than mac or pc.

Skype has been a total ripoff for the last 3 years or so.
Their fees are outrageous if you want to use it for landline calls.
Hopefully, Microsoft will correct that, improve customer service and keep and eye on the charges.
Paying a “foreign transaction fee” whenever you buy credit on Skype is not cool.

Another fine software about to be ruined and bloated with ad/spyware. Thank You Microsoft for doing what you always do. Squash your competition by purchasing them because they do something better than you do. Now we will see increased prices decreased service and bloated code when they try to integrate Skype into Internet Deplorer and they’re owned failed VOIP app Netmeeting”!. And What the He!! was Baumer talking about” Together we will create the future of real-time communications so people can easily stay connected to family, friends,” when those things already exist with Skype JUST THE WAY IT IS….. Leave it ALONE…I am my family and friends have used it since it was first written because IT WORKS don’t mess with it…

Oh you haven’t found out about Ekiga yet. It’s better than Skype. Skype hasn’t been updated in forever anyways.

@lastholdout is simply stating that Microsoft is incompetent. We’ve worked extensively with Microsoft and it is ugly. They don’t know their own code. It’s embarrassing. But hey they make lots of money, which makes everything they do right, right?
