Naya Rivera, who plays closeted cheerleader Santana on Glee, will host the GLAAD Media Awards ceremony in San Francisco on May 14. Sex and the City alum Kim Cattrall will also be on hand to accept the Golden Gate Award. Additionally, guests including Oscar-winning Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, The Kids are All Right‘s writer/director Lisa Cholodenko, and Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez are slated to attend. Even when Glee has it’s frequent moments of mediocrity (and I’m a fan of the show) Naya always manages to shine. Love her!

It’s about time Naya starts getting real recognition for the fantastic work she has been doing all season.
Nothing against Naya nor the GLADD Awards but they are not a major award nor are they even near the barometer for proclaiming that Naya is finally getting recognition. I understand the fat curly haired Jewish reporter kid turned tthem down before going to Naya. Naya does deserve more attention but not even amongst gays is GLADD the equivalent. Good luck, NAYA!
