Reese Witherspoon walked down the aisle on Saturday night, marrying Jim Toth, reports People. The 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress and the 40-year-old talent agent were wed in a private ceremony that was held on Witherspoon’s estate in Ojai, Calif. Robert Downey Jr., Salma Hayek, Tobey Maguire, and Renee Zelwegger were among the celebrities in attendance, along with Witherspoon’s 11-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son from her marriage to Ryan Phillippe. Witherspoon and Toth announced their engagement in December.

How long were they dating? I’m judging purely based on the length of time between the engagement and the wedding but….sometimes I wonder if these actor people get married during the super lovey-dovey phase of a relationship without waiting to see how they work together when that feeling fades, and you still love each other but the other person no longer makes your face flush and your heart pound. Which is when you really figure out if you’re suited to be lifelong partners. Anybody can fall in love with anybody else…but you have to wait it out and see what happens when the excitement fades. Best of luck to them, of course. I’ll stop being obnoxiously preachy now.
I think they were dating for over a year before they got engaged. She seems to have a better head on her shoulders than a lot of other actresses on her level of fame.

My friend happened to be in bar near her house and Conan, Mathew McC, SarJo, SPenn and other stars all came in. He posted on Facebook as he saw each person. It was random that they all came to this place post-wedding. (BTW, her reps told People mag. ‘exclusive’ so they will get the photos too.)
In the story about Robert Pattinson and Like Water for Elephants (p. 41) in this week’s issue, she denied she’d be getting married this weekend.
No wonder she has an Oscar….
Rich people behave differently. They’re extraordinary. They have no personal freedom. Between acting jobs, they can fly wherever, whenever. I can see why their relationships generally don’t last very long. They have too many options.
Ordinary people are more entrenched, simply don’t have as many options. In fact, many ordinary married people can’t afford to get divorced. 1)health insurance costs 2) double rents/mortgages 3) gas, driving back and forth between the two places with the kids etc.
Alas, I’m an ordinary man . . . stuck in the middle with hundreds of millions of other poor souls.
But it could be worse. The caste system India, poor muslim in the Middle-East, etc.
I meant rich people have MORE personal freedoms . . . unlike me, stuck working 40-hour weeks for the rest of my natural life.

Jake and Reese were together for 3 years and then a couple months later she is seen with Toth and just a bit over a year they’re married. Maybe this is the one for her and so more power to her.
After their relationship was over “sources” talked for her (or mags. made them up) but not a word from Jake. Only thing he’d said was he had some special ladies in his life. He took the high road on all this.
I think Reese is one of the only celebrities that sets a good example and I absolutely respect her marriage and hope all the best for her and family.
