Richard Hatch of 'Survivor' turns himself in

Richard Hatch turned himself in to U.S. Marshals in Providence, R.I., to begin his nine-month prison sentence for tax evasion on the prize money he famously won on the first season of Survivor. According to the AP, Hatch never re-filed his 2000 and 2001 taxes after the court ordered him to, following his previous release from prison in 2009. Hatch has appealed his case and maintains his innocence.

    • Daniel

      YAY homophobia! *sigh

  • Remy

Hasn’t he gone to jail like 4 or 5 times over this same thing? Why do they keep letting him out if he still has to serve more jail time?! He must have the most horrible attorney in the nation!

    • Chet

They probably let him out with the stipulation that he refile his taxes and would stay out of jail. He must be a moron to still not do it knowing he’ll go back to jail. Will make it kinda difficult for Trump to hire him should he win Celebrity Apprentice.

Dude, just pay your freaking taxes.

  • Juneau

Yeah – 4 years in prison for this bozo and not one currupt CEO on Wall Street has even been charged with a crime.

  • SLB

And why do tv shows pay this idiot money to be on their shows?

  • Bebe

As much as I loathe Richard Hatch — and I truly do — the punishment doesn’t seem to fit the crime. As an earlier poster said, there are so many corrupt CEOs who never see the inside of a prison and deserve to. And this clown they throw in prison? Talk about picking on the weak.

What a freaking dumbass to not re-file his taxes AFTER he already served time. Richard Hatch may be one of the dumbest people on this planet. and that’s saying alot.

    • Daniel

Dumb like using the word “alot”? Alot is not a word. It’s either a lot or allot, both of which mean different things.

    • Corinth

I agree with Melissa. Seriously, this guy was smart enough to win Survivor. Surely he must know that the IRS would be watching him like a hawk after his first tax evasion.

  • pedro

Hatch is almost as big a loser as Daniel. Find something in life to make you happy dude. A lot or a lot, are you serious?
