Survivor winner and current Celebrity Apprentice star Richard Hatch has been sent back to prison to serve nine more months for neglecting to file taxes on his $1 million Survivor prize, the Associated Press reports. Though he was released after serving three years in 2009 — and had since been under supervised release — he has since failed to refile his 2000 and 2001 taxes, and now owes an estimated $2 million to the IRS. Because, according to U.S. District Court Judge William Smith, Hatch had shown no remorse and failed to follow orders, the reality star was sentenced to serve nine months. (He extended the prosecution’s recommended six-months sentence.) “You can continue to proclaim your innocence,” Smith said in court. “You don’t have the option of engaging in this type of game or negotiation with the court. It needs to be severe punishment. That’s the only thing that will deter you in the future.” After he is released, Hatch will need to serve 26 months supervised release as well. Hatch, who has not returned EW’s request for comment, will report for his sentence Monday. When asked whether or not this will affect Celebrity Apprentice‘s live finale, NBC only responded to EW, “We’re still set to air our live finale on May 22.”

Hatch may think that he is really smart, but he isn’t. The IRS knew that he won that money–it was on TV! How did he ever think that he would be able to avoid them? At least David Cassidy can go home at night. Who is the smart one?

I believe in “GIVING THE DEVIL HIS DO” HOWEVER, I remember Richard Hatch on a kind of “Survivor All Stars” game and I recall Richard purposely touching Susan (the Truck Driver) with his penis. He refused to wear clothes. They were doing a challenge and Richard and Susan had to walk past eachother and he upset her to the point where she left the game. She had said something aboiut suing, but I guess that wasn’t possible.

What I find interesting is that the Donald accepted him to be on the show. I’m sure when they vetted him they knew the possibility existed that his tax problems weren’t over. If he served time, but didn’t pay restitution, why reward the arrogant a–hole with a primetime TV gig?

A million isn’t really that much. Take off 3 zeros, and it’s a thousand dollars. And we all know how easy it is to spend 40 dollars here and 50 there, and soon your thousand is gone. Same goes for a million, it’s just that you’re spending $40,000 or so at a time instead.
