Mickey Rooney granted restraining order against stepson

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has granted 90-year-old actor Mickey Rooney a temporary restraining order against stepson Chris Aber, the Associated Press is reporting. Court filings by Rooney’s attorneys allege Aber has withheld food and medicine from Rooney, “yells and screams” at the actor, and “threatens, intimidates, bullies, and harasses Mickey.” Aber is ordered to stay 100 yards from Rooney and his home until at least a Feb. 24 court hearing.

He probably watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s

What is wrong with you people? The man is 90 yrs old and needs help, not abuse. The Step-Son should be brought to court because abuse of the elderly is a crime in most state’s.
To all you idiots that think it’s funny get some help because there is somthing wrong with all of you.

      • Sam

Your an idiot. I have known his stepson my whole life, he didn’t do ANYTHING wrong. if you actually knew Mickey Rooney like I do, you would know whats going on, you are looking at stuff from a he-said-she-said point of view, You don’t actually know anything about what is going on besides what you, being nosy, heard.

Please tell me what this inforation has to do with Rooney being abused. By the way, where is his wife?

      • Billy Bereau

I wouldn’t mind getting a bit more “inforation” on this subject! Whatever the #ell that is…

    • Billy Bereau

      Me so sorry….

  • Jack

Probably thinks he’s yelling and screaming cause the old man can’t hear worth a damn.

    • ltchy

See? That’s funny! This could have been a good sketch!

      • Scratchy

Or at least a good cartoon..

    • bb

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU POSTERS. This is mistreatment of an elder. An elder person is at risk of harm.

      • Han Solo

He’s a celebrity, so this will all be resolved shortly. I feel more sorry for the cases for the rest of us that don’t make the news and get swept under the rug, bub.

  • ltchy

See, now why couldn’t have Dana Carvey been on THIS week’s SNL? THAT is something that he could have put use of his Rooney to..! Oh, the lost possibilities!

    • Scratchy

Or they could have had something on the Simpsons, where Mickey stands in for Grampa Simpson… You know how they treat him!!

  • dman

you guys are morons… an old man is abused by his stepson and you find it funny? i guess when you are raping your mom and sis you laugh while you’re doing it

    • DBL H

Thats right people just dont respect elderly people anymore Micky Rooney is probaly scared of him.

  • tom

rooney is an icon if he needs a medical assistant hollywood or the actors guild should get him a nurse. This is unfair. He paved way for lots of actors in hollywood. He was the highest paid actor at one point and time.

  • Julia

This is so sad. The man deserves better. Everyone deserves better than to be mistreated like this, but especially children and the elderly. Hollywood didn’t treat Rooney particularly well and it saddens me to see that his family hasn’t, either. I hope he has someone in his life who’s caring for him.

    • Tracy Murray

I think he does have some help , through friends and colleagues , if he didn’t , he would not get that restraining order against his step son , mind you , he could still have some of his facilities left and be smart enough to call the police on his own .

  • RPM

    Mickey Rooney is still alive?

    • Han Solo

Well, duh… If he wasn’t would they still be calling it elder abuse if Chris Aber was just yelling at him at the gravesite? That’s kinda weird, huh?

      • Sam

Chris Aber did NOT abuse him.

      • Sam’s Son

If Chris Abner did NOT abuse him (like “Sam” says), then whose gravesite was he yelling at?

  • The Ghost of Judy Garland

C’mon, Mickey! Let’s “Strike Up the Band” for old time’s sake!

  • GuitarHarry

Any of you having fun at this old man’s expense better get ready: karma is a very real thing, not just a theory. Yeah, sure….you are young and beautiful and will never grow old. Dream on. You’re already older and uglier than you think! (Anyone younger than you will agree!) There is one absolute truth: in this world, you get what you give–it’s just a matter of time. Laugh it up, dirtball.

    • Han Solo

That’s “Laugh it up, Fuzzball”…. Please don’t misquote me.

  • Rosa

Oh no! How could he do that? Mickey rooney is a national treasure!

    • Billy Bereau

If he was a national treasure, wouldn’t Chris Aber have yelled at him at the Smithsonian?? Or instead Nicholas Cage would have located him….

  • Jim

I saw Chris yelling at Mickey first hand and found it really upsetting to see. I think there is more to this story and elder abuse is more common than many think. Mickey is 90 and whether he wants to relax or work no one should yell at him, especially his step son. I feel for Mickey’s wife because it’s her Son and she must be torn based on the love of her own child as well as her husband. This is not funny.

    • bb

Why didn’t you do anything for God’s sake. This is abuse of the worst kind. Just awful. Help the victim, should there be a next time.

      • bb

There are laws in all states against elder abuse, and abuse should be reported.

      • Double dd

Is it elder abuse if Chris Aber is just yelling at Mickey’s gravesite? Once he croaks, it’s not abuse anymore is it?

  • Al

    Jiminy-jillikers!

    • Scratchy

    • Kitty Face

CAPS LOCK IS THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL!

      • Doggy Breath

But Italics is the way of the Jedi!

      • Obi-Wan Kenobi

This is not the smelly geezer you are looking for…..
There is no need to yell at his gravesite…
        Move along….

  • STAR

It is amazing what the ignorant find entertaing.
Hope you 12 year old mentalities enjoy your KARMA. What goes around comes around…and KARMA always knows your address.

    • Scratchy

    • Doggy Breath

Does Karma think I live at 1313 Mockingbird Lane? No? Me neither…

  • Ellen

I would ask where is Jan his wife of many years in all of this. If her son is the rotten guy he seems to be, his mom is probably afraid of him too!
