Lindsay Lohan addresses theft charge on Twitter

Tags:

Just two days after being charged with felony grand theft, Lindsay Lohan took to her Twitter to address the accusations that she stole a $2,500 necklace from a store in Venice, Calif. “I would never steal, in case people are wondering,” she wrote. “I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal… ” The actress also addressed those who wrote headlines about the Kimberly Ovitz-designed dress she wore during her court appearance Wednesday, when she pleaded not guilty to the charge. “What I wear in court shouldnt be front page news,” she wrote. “It’s just absurd.”

Lohan’s lawyer told CNN Thursday that the actress will seek a plea bargain in the case.

Can’t the judge order this dumb@$$ to a gag order?

    • Cygnus

When will celebrities learn that Tweeting about their court problems is not going to earn them any credit with a judge, DA, or jury. The court of public opinion doesnt care about her situation. If she’s still trying to keep her dwindling fan base by tweeting to them, then she’s going to be saddened at how few are still around when she gets out of prison in several years. I hope she gets use to the shampoo bottle. Oh wait, she already has with Sam Ronson.

  • jenn

If she didn’t want what she wore to court to be front page news…then she shouldn’t have dressed like a prostitute. She is so ignorant it’s sad.

    • Eric

You wouldn’t say that about an actual prostitute though, would you?

I don’t like her, but she is right. We’re pathetic.

      JUST IGNORE HER ALREADY!

    • Winn

If that was the dress of a prostitute…then prostitutes have come a long way. The dress was gorgeous! And she is right…if she had worn a non-designer dress then the caption would read that she looked ‘frumpy’ and have really ‘hit hard times’. It was totally ridiculous to make her dress an issue and then to get people like you to buy into it as though it was an additional crime to wear a dress well! What idiots!

      • Oh Please!

The dress was inappropriate for court, we all have opinions and don’t need you to judge us. So GET OVER IT!

    • Winn

If that is what prostitutes are wearing these days…then I am definitely in the wrong profession. Lindsey did not look like a prostitute…She looked gorgeous! Stop buying into the media’s torture of this young woman! It makes no sense to try her for wearing a beautiful dress well!

  • D

Apparently she was raised to drink, take drugs, blow off court dates, ‘lose’ her passport and walk out of stores (and parties) with other people’s mink coats.

    • hc

Common misconception. She was raised to be a cash cow so her mother could re-live her youth and her father could do whatever it is that he does. Also, so both would never have to work. The drugs, whoring around, etc. is all a consequence of the above.

    • cara

Hahah, that is EXACTLY what I was thinking!! Well put!!

    • Parmelia

Aritcels like this really grease the shafts of knowledge.

  • allie

she will never take responsibility for her actions.

  • UGH

I hate to say it but I predict an overdose or suicide in the coming months.

    • meme

I hate to say it but I don’t care if she does.

  • tim

I love her comment ” maybe i’ll take a no jail plea deal, I haven’t decided yet” It must be great to know you can steal, cheat, lie, do drugs, and run the courts at the same time! Welcome to America!

  • orodrigu

She did not look like a prostitute! for once she looked well kept.

    • KC

Half right. She looked like a well-kept callgirl.

      • Linda K

KC – I partially agree w/ you. Well-kept street-walker is a better discription. I would hate to give Call Girls a bad name at this point.

    • ElisaQ

Orodrigu, KC and Linda are mocking you because the phrase is “well kempt,” not “well kept.”

    • Winn

She looked fabulous but the media will never let her get it together on her own terms. They won’t stop until Either, she ‘snaps’ like Britney did…or have an even more tragic demise.

  • Jason

If she’s chraged for it, she should at least be able to keep the thing.

    • Shay

Ya right ! Just like if a bankrobber robs a bank, he gets to keep the loot. What planet do you live on ?

      • bob

lol bankers steel all the time and get away with it what planet do you live on.

      • Shay

Bankrobbers who STEAL and get caught, get jail time. They do not get to keep the goods.

  • anonymous

    KLEPTO.

  • Paul P

You people are A&&holes to even be judging another human with her own issues and problems. Quit gossiping about the interesting lives of others because your life is so dull, and get some class, get some sense, get a life.

    • anne

Paul P–talk about judging other people! Our coments are valid and as revelant as yours. Actually more so–we don’t condone being a thief and a doper and you sound like you do.

    • Just a Guy in NC

      Judging? Really?
Ok…someone has an admitted drug problem and you say they are a drug addict…now I’m JUDGING?
      Wow.

    • Brett

Did a guy who just called people commenting here “A&&holes” really tell them to get some class?

      • herb

I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW HE HAS A LOT OF CLASS TOO BAD ITS ALL LOW

    • Linda K

Paul P- I’m not judging but I think you’re an freak. This is a fact so that’s not gossiping.

    • Winn

      Bravo!

    • Marti

So, Paul, if you’re not here to read the juicy news and fill your head with other people’s comments and criticisms to somehow validate your dull life, why are you here? Get a life.

  • Crystalball Reader

Bet Lohan wouldn’t do drugs or drive while intoxicated either!

  • Just a Guy in NC

And you also weren’t raised to be a drug addict but you are.
Please pull your trainwreck of a life together. People are laughing AT you and your imaginary “hipness”.
It’s very very sad…and everyone LOVES watching you derail. That alone would motivate me to start builing a LIFE and a CAREER instead of a reputation as a drug addicted thief. :-(

  • Linda K

Sure – you were brought up not steal, lie, or cheat. . . wouldn’t lying to the court about drug use, taking a car and chasing after your assistant, and cheating yourself and trashing your career respresent the best person ever.

  • Brandon

for the first time in a long time, i agree with her. No I dont agree the dress was appropriate, but it wasnt newsworthy either.

    • anonymous

She looked like white trash. Very inappropriate for court.

    • Moo

News flash “anonymous”: criminal defendants quite frequently look like “white trash.” So in that way, she was dressed very appropriately.

  • Brandon

Viva LA RAZA!! “I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal… ”
