Elizabeth Taylor has been admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for treatment of congestive heart failure, the Associated Press is reporting. Taylor’s spokeswoman said today that the iconic actress, 78, checked into the hospital some time this past week, and it is unclear when she may be able to leave. Taylor underwent heart surgery in 2009.

Liz Taylor is what a movie star should be. I love her and always have. She was the most beautiful woman -probably of all time…perfection! And, she was talented to boot. Her fierce loyalty to her friends and she never suffered fools – makes her a great dame. I hope she gets better…Liz and Maureen O’Hara are the last of a golden time.

Liz Taylor is a great icon. I’m 30 and I can appreciate her for the movies, her beauty (both outside, and as it seems from press & costars, inside). The wretched comments I see here reminds me that many people are truly just unhappy people who like to spread their misery. Plus, I’m also reminded that prison inmates & psych patients also (sadly) still get internet time while locked up. Wish EW would monitor their comment sections & delete these disturbing rants…and the spam. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to read the comments anymore. :/

Elizabeth Taylor was and IS one of the most beautiful people on earth, inside AND out. She suffered a lot of tragedy and heartbreak in her life, but always rose above it. She was way ahead of her time when she began her activism for AIDS. She won 2 Oscars, and from what i’ve read seems to be a very compassionate, loving person. So, to all the idiot haters out there, I ask- what have YOU done with your life that will ever, could ever, come close to what Elizabeth Taylor has achieved?
