Lindsay Lohan seeking plea bargain

Tags:

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer told CNN that the actress will seek a plea bargain in the felony grand theft case against her. “Ms. Lohan maintains her innocence, and now that I’ve seen the police reports, I believe the case is entirely defensible,” Shawn Chapman Holley told CNN. “Having said that, we will entertain a discussion concerning a plea if it means no jail so that she can move forward with her recovery and her career.”

On Wednesday, the actress pleaded not guilty to the charge, and is free on bail. A hearing is set for Feb. 23. The charge stems from a Venice, Calif., store’s claim that Lohan had stolen a necklace worth $2,500. If she’s convicted of the felony grand theft charge, she could receive up to three years in jail.

I BELIEVE YOU LINDSAY! stay strong gurl <3

Please, LA judicial system, we the people beg you to lock this person away. Not because we don’t like her, even though her attitude and behavior is outrageously wrong, but because it will benefit HER.
She takes NO responsibility for her actions, and is heading towards a destructive, and possibly fatal path. Do this for her own good. She needs time away from the people she is with, because obviously all they care about is making money off of her bad publicity.
To the commentator above, I mean no disrespect, but how can you support her when she stole the necklace from a store? I mean, if you are fan then you would truly want her to seek help. She has been in rehab and out, in rehab and out.
There comes a time when I have to let go of my most beloved celebrity, who I admire dearly. If they keep doing wrong, if they keep messing up, if they don’t think about their fans (which they don’t since they keep getting in trouble), then why should I support them.
Again, I hope she gets help, and I truly believe that jail time will do her good.
      Just my $0.02

no i agree. she’s extremely self-destructive and needs help. it’s pretty obvious she stole the necklace and she deserves jail time for that. hopefully it will help her in the long run. my comment was sort of facetious but i do hope she gets her act together

If her defence lawyer believes the case is “defensible” then he would defend her and get this off her record. She would not take a plea offer if she were innocent and have this on her record.

The law is a trade secret and the public process a business owned and operated by the legal profession.

  • ken

You mean maximum of 3 days in jail right?

  • dee

She needs help not jail. there is no psychological help in jail. most people in jail come out more damaged then when they went in

    • ubiquitous

You don’t go to jail for therapy/help, you go to jail for breaking the law.

  • Mandalina

Lindsay is not going to get better. She will die from her life of destruction.

  • vicky

if this was any other regular 24 year old with the record she has they would be in jail no ifs ans or butts abut it.

  • Binx

She hasn’t “moved forward” in years. She needs to go away for a pretty long time to realize how spoiled she has become.

  • blessed

Oh please we all know celebrities always get away with everything when it comes to committing crimes. Its the poor people who get screwed or the judges act like they trying to do their job. I’m sorry if u did the crime u do the time. Of course the lawyer would say her case is defendable because he wants to get paid.

  • SKel

If she is no guilty why would she enter into a plea agreement

    • Lucy

Even if she pleads innocent, if she goes to trial and ends up being convicted, she could get up to three years in prison.

By entering into a plea agreement, she could avoid going to trial and avoid a prison sentence.
