David Arquette checks into rehab

David Arquette, who publicly shared his frustration and heartbreak over his separation from actress Courteney Cox, has checked into a rehab program, according to his spokesperson. People quoted an anonymous source saying that the 39-year-old needed help with alcohol and depression, not hard drugs. “He is dealing with a broken heart,” said the source. “He can’t handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out.”

Arquette and Cox announced in October that they intended to separate after 11 years of marriage. They have a 6-year-old daughter, Coco.

'Millennium Trilogy' actor feared dead after fire

Filed under: Movies, News and tagged: ,

Per Oscarsson, an award-winning Swedish actor who played a small role in the Millennium film trilogy based on Stieg Larsson’s best-selling novels, is feared dead after a fire torched his home near Skara, Sweden, according to AFP. He and his wife, Kia, were believed to be home at the time of the blaze, and human remains have been discovered, though they’ve yet to be identified. The cause of the fire was unknown.

Oscarsson played Holger Palmgren, Lisbeth Salander’s late lawyer and guardian, in The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest. The 83-year-old Oscarsson began making films in the 1940s, and he won the Best Actor award at the Cannes film festival for his role in Hunger (1966).

Update: According to the Hollywood Reporter, Swedish police have located the burned remains of a second body in the ruins of the fire that destroyed Oscarsson’s home. Forensic tests on both bodies could take several days, but the discovery of a second body increases fears that the remains will prove to be Oscarssen and his wife, who’ve not been seen since the New Year’s Eve disaster.
