According to the Associated Press, a review of domestic abuse allegations brought against Mel Gibson is ongoing. Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley released a statement noting his office had received information from Gibson’s lawyers pertaining to the accusations, but did not say when prosecutors will announce whether or not they intend to press charges. The possible charges stem from allegations by Gibson’s ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, that the actor struck her; Gibson has also claimed that Grigorieva attempted to extort him.
