Michael Jackson preliminary hearing ends, Conrad Murray ordered to stand trial

Filed under: News and tagged:

Dr. Conrad Murray was ordered to stand trial today for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, the Associated Press is reporting. The ruling came at the conclusion of a six-day preliminary hearing in the case before Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor, in which prosecutors offered testimony from detectives, Jackson’s bodyguard, hospital physicians, medical experts, an L.A. county coroner official, and director/choreographer Kenny Ortega, among others, asserting that Murray had given Jackson a lethal dose of the hospital-grade anesthetic propofol, and then did not attend to Jackson’s care afterwards. The judge also stripped Murray of his medical license.

Murray, 57, has pleaded not guilty, and faces up to four years in prison if convicted. He’s due to be arraigned Jan. 25.

    @les biro

    Whethe Murray was trying to help him or he was negligent and incompetent about it that won’t get him off the hook. A doctor feeding someone’s addiction in a dangerous way is going to have serious consequences, and it should.

    Obviously les biro is not only ignorant but can’t spell. Regardless of whether Michael Jackson was addicted to pain killers, Conrad Murray admitted giving him drugs he had no business giving. He also left Michael alone for a long time and then did a terrible job of attempting to revive him. He also waited until after Michael was dead to call 911. The man deserves to rot in jail.

    Doctor Murray needed to have his medical liscense stipped and he deserves to stand trial and go to jail for the maximumamount of time allowed by law for his charge. he killed Michael jackson and he should have to pay. You will live in our hearts and forever be remembered Michael.
