Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria is being sued for allegedly charging an illegal interest rate on her $1 million investment in her restaurant group, Beso. According to a lawsuit filed by co-investor Mali Nachum in Encino, Calf., the company failed to bring action against Longoria after being informed that the star’s eight percent interest rate allegedly violates California law and would eventually have been worth $4.6 million. Nachum is asking for no less that $4 million in damages. “This is a desperate reaction in a lawsuit without merit by prior partners who, through their unauthorized and fraudulent actions, required Eva Longoria to seek reorganization protection through bankruptcy court in Nevada,” said a rep for Longoria in a statement. The first Beso restaurant opened in Hollywood in 2008, followed by a second restaurant and a club, Eve, in Las Vegas. (Beso Las Vegas and Eve recently filed for bankruptcy.)

most resturants dont work! when will celebs ever learn their lesson? even people who know the food and business industry struggle, what makes a hollywood actor think he/she would be any different?
She wasn’t the cook, realize that. She was an investor. There is nothing wrong in investing in a restaurant. Some business strive some fail.
Instant failure is what I say regarding this hack of an actress…first her marriage falls apart and now this..karma is biting her right in the ass!
her husband cheated on her……shes gorgeous, on a hit show, how can you call her a hack of an actress??? why is that karma for her husband to cheat on her what a grouch you are
Kels-I couldn’t agree more. Eva is gorgeous and talented and probably humiliated that her husband cheated. I’m sure it’s bad enough for anyone to go through, yet alone someone under constant media scrutiny.
wino- It’s not like Eva said “I’m going to open a restaurant” She was an investor. Two very different things
What’s wrong Jed, jealous that you don’t have a shot with her? As for poor Eva, I hope 2011 is a better year. :/
Regardless, Eva Longoria is still the straw that stirs the drink on Desperate Housewives. I would spend big money on a meal at one of her restaurants, if she sat down with me for a drink and gave me her Autograph.
Well said, Delindus. Me too!
Because you folks are such good friends with the victim Eva Longoria…AND DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES IS SUCH A LAME SHOW.
Ouch, that hurts. And I really care what someone whom calls themselves “Marquie” thinks. Stop being bitter about being uglier than Longoria and embrace life.
What is illegal about that interest rate? If they can sue for 8% then let’s go after all the banks in the country who charge 17- 28% on charge cards. That’s a crime and the Govt. does nothing about it. They pay nothing to borrow it and charge the public 28 times more than it costs them, that’s illegal in my book!
