Image Credit: Everett CollectionDirector Blake Edwards, who achieved massive success for helming the Pink Panther series starring Peter Sellers, has passed away, his rep confirms. The writer-director, who also brought Victor/Victoria, Breakfast at Tiffany‘s and 10 to the big screen, was 88 years old. Edwards, however, was most revered for his slapstick work, with 1963′s The Pink Panther and its sequels — 1975′s The Return of the Pink Panther, 1976′s The Pink Panther Strikes Again, 1978′s Revenge of the Pink Panther, 1982′s Trail of the Pink Panther, 1983′s Curse of the Pink Panther, and 1993′s Son of the Pink Panther — earning him a place amongst comedy’s greatest directors. He is survived by his wife, Victor/Victoria star Julie Andrews, and children.

Nick Cannon confirmed the news on his radio show Thursday morning, revealing that the couple hadn’t intended on revealing the news until they met President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during Sunday’s “Christmas in Washington 2010” concert. “They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, ‘So, what are you having, are you having twins?’ ” Cannon said on his Rollin’ With Nick Cannon radio show. “And at this point she hadn’t told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along … And because of the excitement, because of the emotion, she was overwhelmed [and] she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins.”
Justin Bieber won't face assault charges
Rest easy, Justin Bieber fans: The pop star will not face charges in Canada stemming from an alleged assault at a laser tag facility. The Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police told CNN that their investigation is complete, and that the evidence does not support an assault charge.

After just two years of marriage, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have decided to go their separate ways, People reports. “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” the pair said in a joint statement. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.” A source told People that Reynolds and Johansson separated six months ago; they wed in Vancouver in September 2008.
'Dexter' stars Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter file for divorce (EW exclusive)

An exclusive joint statement to EW from their representatives read: “Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.” Both reps add that the split was amicable. The couple — who met on the set of the Showtime drama, in which she plays his foster sister — married on December 31, 2008. Hall completed treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier this year.
'World of Warcraft: Cataclysm' sells 3.3 million units in first 24 hours on the market
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the latest expansion pack for Activision Blizzard Inc.’s massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), sold a massive 3.3 million units in just the first 24 hours after its release, according to Reuters. That sets a new record for the franchise: The last WoW expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, sold 2.8 million copies in one day when it was released in November 2008. WoW has approximately 12 million subscribers globally.
Food Network chef gets nine years for murder plot
Juan-Carlos Cruz, the former Food Network chef who made headlines for spearheading a plot to kill his wife, has been sentenced to nine years in prison, People reports. In October, the reality TV personality had pleaded no contest to charges; he had been accused of offering two homeless men $500 to perform the deed. Cruz must also pay $1,870 in restitution.
Cruz was arrested in May after police discovered his plot. He was previously known as the host of Calorie Commando.
