This woman violated the terms of her employment by speaking to TMZ. Period. If she had spoken about any other person who was a patient the result would have been the same.
Lindsay Lohan needs to take a long walk off a short pier. Tired of hearing about that lame chick. Who gives a crap about her or her messed up life. She’s just another Hollywood loser.
TEAM LiLO!!!! That woman is a liar…I support you everyday Lindsay and know that though you have many haters who would love to see you fail, there are postive people too, who always hope for the best when it comes to a fellow human’s recovery!
Dawn Holland violated the terms of her employment and ALSO violated federal HIPAA laws. By violating HIPAA laws, she effectively forced the Betty Ford Clinic to fire her bec had they not done so, their consequences under FEDERAL law would have been much more severe.
Moreover, I somehow doubt that Lohan is the first Betty Ford patient Holland has encountered who has grabbed her wrist. My mother was a psychiatric nurse in a very private facility like Betty Ford (but far more discreet) and she was grabbed and shoved and spat upon by recovering addicts on several occasions. It’s PART OF THE JOB. So, it’s my bet that Lohan isn’t the first patient who touched Holland, but that Lohan’s the first patient who touched Holland that Holland realized she could sell out at a profit.
Granted, if the BFC worker signed a confidentiality agreement and broke it, she should have been fired. I just don’t see what is defendable about LL’s actions. She’s supposed to be getting clean and she ends up in a bar? We don’t NEED to know the outlying facts of that. Do we think she was kidnapped and stashed in the bar? Did the bar have a vortex and suck her in? What the hell are people talking about here??
wow!! im not sure how i feel about the nurse who was fired over this story, but i do know how i feel about lindsay lohan. sorry if i defend anyone but this young woman has gone to the extremes for publicity. in my opinion (which i am entitled to) this is just another stunt to get attention. No one will hire her because she has proven that she is not reliable, therefore she hasn’t been making any money. as many times as she has been in rehab and failed, maybe a 24/7 center would be in her best interest but she has to want it for it to be a success!! i will say no more because i choose to hear more positive things about actors/actresses.
Same old thing, patients are abusive to healthcare providers and they are excused for their behavior and the provider gets suspended or fired. No wonder fewer caring people are choosing healthcare careers…
LL has a right to expect medical staff to not make comments about her treatment. I am sure there have been other patients who have battled with staff – this staffer made the mistake of talking about it in public. If LL was being treated for cancer and someone took release photos of her losing her hair, I don’t think people would be questioning the invasion of privacy. LL is mentally ill – an addiction is an illness. Very few addicts don’t have slip ups, especially during the early days of treatment. Since LL is in BF voluntarily, she is allowed to come and go.
This young woman needs some jail time, maybe that would be a wake-up call.
