The most important words in the HIPPA law is “Health Information”. I do not see how the police responding to a call on the street and then one of the participants reporting an assault can be considered a violation.Lohan gave up her right to privacy when she left the facility and then became what is known as a public drunk.Unless the employee released medical information known only to the clinic, then she may have a legitimate claim against the clinic for wrongful termination. Medical information is the only information protected by the act.All other information about a patient can be given to the police on their request and then becomes “public”information.
Agree, she is all over the tabloids with captions “on leave from Betty Ford…” Yeah right.
Mrs. Ford should remove her name from the place.
