Wasn’t Shay supposed to be there for a Subway giveaway? It was hard to root for either Frado or Patrick who were such jerks but good job…losing weight is hard to do. Best of look to hottie Adam…Allie’s husband should have been jealous. LOL

    • Bubba in TX

I’m thinking Shay not being there is a bad sign. I sure hope she didn’t fall off the wagon.

      • Al

Shay was training to run the NYC marathon with Jared Fogel in November. He ran it and finished but she didn’t run.

    • Missfroggy

Shay was on Season 8. Her additional Subway challenge was part of Season 9.

      • TVAddict

When Subway gave Shay $1000 per pound lost at the season 9 finale, they then offered her more money to run a marthon for the season 10 finale.

      • JPX

Shay will forever be morbidly obese. She is far too dumb to consistently implement the skills she learned on the show. I’m sure she’s as big as a Buick today. The Biggest Loser should follow up on more past participants. I’m sure the end result would be that most of these fattys gained all the weight back.

      • halolady

Seems obvious JPX has never struggled with weight or he/she would not be making these kinds of comments. It is easy to sit back and poke fun at people when you have not walked that mile in thier shoes. Grow up.

    • Suzq

Ally was really flirty last night.

    • Kari

Shay mentioned on her facebook page that she would not be there – she looks fantastic and is running her Marathon in May

      • Jessica

Believe it when I see it.

  • Levente

Yes, Adam looked good, but uh… Mark, hello?! I knew he was handsome, but wow! He looked great! I told my mom I’d go find me some Mark if he wouldn’t get mad at what I eat some times… I enjoy Buffalo Wild Wings during football season. :)

    • nunnya

I agree. Mark is a hottie.

    • PLP

Yes, Mark looked terrific, but why was his hair dyed a color that did not complement his complexion? Odd.

    • Leave

That guy has an unhealthy connection with his dead mom. Seriously.

  • Myname

I’m on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shines ain’t always going to be gold. I’ll be fine once I get it.

  • Chris Dobrowolski

I thing Patrick deserved the grand prize.

    • Lisa Wagner

I think he deserved it to he worked hard him and Mark were very dedicated to the cause.

  • Nana

I was hoping Shay would make an appearance so we can see how she looks now. I haven’t really read anything about her and she wasn’t on that special a couple weeks ago. Both Adam and Mark looked great. I knew Ada was going to be the only woman in the top 5.

    • dm

If you do a google search for “Shay Sorrells” you’ll see a recent People mag article and pix. She looks great!

      • SLB

She also has a facebook page. She looks great.

    • Julie

Uh, Nana…Ada was NOT the only woman in the top 5. Elizabeth placed 4th.

      • Ali

Don’t think that’s what she meant. I think she was saying that if you rank the contestants by their total percentage of weight lost at the finale, Ada was the only woman in the top 5. Elizabeth made it longer on the ranch, but did not lose as much overall.

  • jen

Patrick looked amazing. Adam looked hot. Have to say though, Patrick should really give Ada that car back…

and yea, Alison really needs to work on her finale hosting skills.

    • Cartman

Alison has never been good at the live show.

And I agree, Patrick should give Ada that car back.

      • Mary

I agree Patrick should give the car back to Ada..she should have it. Also I think Mark is the true winner because he lost the most weight..

      • Matt

        Yup, bring back Caroline Rhea!!

      • Jessica

@Matt: NO!! Ally does a great job, you guys are crazy.

      • LG

Allie is horrible. And who does her wardrobe? She wears the CRAZIEST outfits!

      • bootsycolumbia

Allie has never been good at hosting TBL, period. I miss Caroline Rhea and wish they’d bring her back, or someone else.

  • Deborah Higgins

I just did not care for this bunch at all. The nice people got pushed off by the fraidy cats, they were losers in more ways than one! But it was good to see the benefits of the weight loss to the people!

    • Cartman

Yeah, this group never grabbed me.

Every season seems to get bigger, sicker, and more boring contestants with far more Subway, Jenny-O, and gum ads built in.

I can’t say I am looking forward to more seasons.

      • Dana

Oh, I *totally* agree! I can’t believe how many product placements there are throughout the show. And the kicker is, what could be a one-hour show is stretched into two hours by repeating footage after every commercial break! What happened to the good ol’ days, when just having commercials was enough to pay for advertising? This show constantly pushes Jenny-O, Subway, Fiber One, Extra (although, I haven’t seen Extra gum being advertised this season), and let’s not forget the mystery powder Ally was pushing last season.

I don’t know… the constant product placement just bugs me. It’s getting harder and harder for me to really care about the show anymore.

      • bootsycolumbia

Yeah, Extra gum was in there a few times during the season, Dana. The contestants were flogging it as an alternative to dessert.

    • Dora

And future contestants will probably learn from this group that if 3 or 4 heavy guys all align together, they will definitely make it to the end. Buh-bye female winners.

      • RK

The wrestler next year has a huge advantage — there’s an athlete that knows how to train under all of that fat.

  • Beauty

Losing weight is hard to do but when you go on TV becaause your so fat much is expected of you. That being said, these were the worst finale contestants I’ve seen on BL. 90% of them were still huge!

    • Cartman

I hear you. Why can’t they go back to people who are just fat and not candidates for the circus?

      • Beauty

They’ve had even bigger contestants in past seasons and they finished much smaller than this crew.

      • Cartman

Yeah, but not everyone can lose 56% of their bodyweight like Danny on season 8.

I could go on that show and be an interesting contestant but if I had to lose over 50% of what I currently weigh I would look anorexic.

I don’t want to watch a show about extreme morbidly obese people losing weight. I want to see people that are 100lbs or so overweight and not people who need a stick to wipe their ass with, lol.

    • RK

A lot of the women did not do well at all, compared to previous seasons.

      • Craig

I agree, this season the women did poorly, by BL standards. There is usually bigger numbers from the female contestants at the finale. Elizabeth did really poorly considering she spent the most time on the ranch.
However they all lost weight and are living healthy, which is the true point of this show.

  • stephan jean

I got TV but to be continued

  • Bibi

Glad I came here before I wasted 2 hours watching this. I would have watched if Ada won, but not either of these two true losers.

  • Anne

Did anyone notice that the men seemed to be wearing (white) pressure vests (I’m assuming) underneath their shirts? Trying to make them look leaner than they actually were…

    • Rick

I’ve noticed that the contestants wear compression shirts under their t-shirts for the weigh-ins, and I imagine on the latter parts of the show. It may partially be to make them appear slimmer, but it could also be to hide the… excess skin as a result of losing all of that weight.

      • Grignac

Exactly! Did you see Rick? Batwings.

      • LL

Yeah they wear compression shirts, because until the finale airs they’re not allowed to get any plastic surgery to get rid of excess skin.

    • RK

Well, they can’t get the skin cut off until after the weigh-in…

    • jenkay

Ada had some kind of shorts on under her skirt too.

  • looney tuune

Worst Biggest Loser season ever! Like I was honestly sick of seeing Elizabeth week after week still there especially in the final 4?! Like really?! Strategy or not, she shouldve went home there were people there who deserved to stay more than her, or Frado or Patrick. Ok so he lost his job, alot of ppl lose jobs, I’m just witing to see a biggest loser where the people lose weight and look healthy, not so skinny that it looks unhealthy. I didn’t get how, most people were still heavy, like Sofia, Tina, Jessica, the other chick who was there who had bypass surgery at 14! Did they not learn the same routines and diet plans as everyone else??.. Honestly, what were they doin at home?.. They should do an entire womans biggest loser and show me that woman can lose the weight, man are kicking a$$ and the woman are failing.

    • SLB

I was a bit disappointed in most of the women too. They looked exactly the same as when they left the ranch. Ada looked great, but she was such a powerhouse i expected her to look much better than she did at the finale.

      • bootsycolumbia

I was really disappointed in the women and their results. I wasn’t expecting a bunch of anorexics, but a couple of women didn’t look much better than when they started. Although I have to admit, after 8 months, to lose even 60 or 70 lbs is a more realistic achievement than to lose over 100lbs. The healthy amount to lose is 1-2 lbs a week.

  • DC

Commenting on Anne’s post above – it’s been widely (no pun intended) known for a while that the contestants wear “Spanx” and pressure garments at the finale to look better. Think about how much weight they’ve lost, and how much loose skin they must have… without the garments you’d see all that. I wholeheartedly agree that they should go back to the roots of the show, and have people with around 100 lbs. to lose as the contestants; that would show realistic weight loss for viewers. But I guess having the morbidly obese people makes for better TV.

    • Zakry

People are so cynical. If BL stuck with folks with 100 lbs to lose, this very forum would complain that the morbidly obese, the people who need the most help, are being discriminated against!

      Just enjoy the show.

      • C

        Amen

    • Dana

And what’s scary is, the contestants that will be on season 11 are crazy huge. It was said that one woman couldn’t be a contestant on the show until she lost 100 lbs BEFORE it started!

It seems to me that they’re now combing the country for people who are more than 200 lbs overweight. Gone are those who only have to lose 100 lbs. Why? Because like someone else said, it makes for better ratings to have these people huffing and puffing and collapsing from running one mile. Those who only have 100 lbs to lose won’t be able to compete with those who are morbidly obese, especially at the weigh-ins. This season, many of the guys were dropping 30-40 lbs a WEEK. That’s INSANE!!! How can someone who needs to lose 100 lbs compete with that? Kind of like Sam from season 9. He was the only one who got to his goal weight while at the ranch and he got voted off because he didn’t have any more weight to lose. When you have these people who have giant numbers of weight to lose, they’re the ones who will make it to the end, just because they have a higher percentage of weight to lose than others who are overweight, but not in the extreme.

  • Amanda

I can’t believe how some of them didn’t appear to lose any more weight at home…wth!? I am unhappy that Patrick won…he had no concience or integrity…had Mark continued on, he would have won…would have loved to see that! Hopefully this next season will be more about weight loss and less about game play.

    • bootsycolumbia

I liked Mark, too. He worked hard and played the game with integrity, and I was furious that he got voted off and Elizabeth, that lazy underachiever, stayed.

  • Peggy

If you have never been overweight, you don’t understand that even if they maintained their weight loss at home, they are a success. The have to avoid the temptations, keep up their exercise regimen and continue the lives, with work, etc. The weight loss on the show just isn’t realistic to most of us because we struggle to lose even a pound a week, let alone 10.

    • Kara

I agree Peggy. I have yo-yo dieted for the past 12 years and the maintenance is by far the hardest thing to do.

      • RK

        Maybe you shouldn’t diet…

      • Zakry

Maybe that was a dumb thing to say.

      • RK

Have you seen the show? You aren’t supposed to diet, but make s lifestyle change.
