Blade star Wesley Snipes has reported to a federal prison in Pennsylvania, Reuters reports. The actor will serve a three-year sentence two years after being convicted for willful failure to file tax returns in Florida from 1999 to 2001. Just two days ago, Snipes appeared on Larry King to defend himself and maintain that he might avoid prison time: “We still believe in miracles,” he said on the show. “So don’t send me up the river just yet.”

Snipes is guilty, but how much is the Feds going to spend to hold him for 3 years for a non-violent misdemeanor?
Probably less than the amount they are going to get from people who will start paying their taxes when they see that there are real consequences for tax evasion.
It was NOT tax evasion. It was failure to file…which is NOT the same under the law.
Well I think he made it worse by leaving the country, and he is a celebrity so you know they are all over him.

Mr.Snipes is a good actor ref: Waiting to Exhale. He deserves a second chance. Perhaps he’ll put his time to good use while in prison and write a script or at least hire a better accountant to prepare his taxes in a timely fashion.
