Britney Spears says her new album will drop in March

Britney Spears took to her Twitter feed on her 29th birthday today to announce that her new album will be released this March. Over two posts, the pop star wrote: “My fans mean the world to me & waking up to all of your wishes really made me smile, so here’s something that I hope will make you smile… I’m almost done with my new album and it will be coming out this March.” Oh, also, she is “IN L-O-V-E WITH IT!”

    • jesse

better than gaga and christina loser, why do you think people were waiting so long for britney spears new album, so keep hating cuz u dont make a difference in her sales

    • Britney is a joke

I couldn’t agree with you more!!!!

      • Britney is a joke

I meant I couldn’t agree more about the “Cool! Moore autotuned-to-death electro-crap from the Queen of White-Trash Pap!” comment.

  • Justin

Yes!!! I’ve been waiting for some confirmation! Finally, some real solid pop music from an icon and legend.

    • GAGA4EVA

ROFL @ “real solid pop music from an icon and legend.”

      • jasper

she may be white trash and a joke to you….but uh….i’m pretty sure she’s more successful than you’ll ever be

      • kaduzy

@ jasper: maybe that’s true, but that doesn’t make her an icon or a legend.

    • Britney is a joke

LMFAO!!! Typically Britard comment. Her music is always the same old same old. Except now, it is coming from a 29-year old woman who needs a babysitter for herself 24/7/365.

      • roger

Britney’s music isn’t the same old same old. You can probably say that because you don’t listen to her music. I have friends that say they don’t like her until they heard Blackout album. If you appreciate pop music, then you should really know what you’re talking about. That is, no matter what happens, at the end of the day, Britney’s songs are solid and definitely not forgettable. If you know HMBOMT, Toxic, OIDIA, You Drive Me Crazy, Womanizer, Piece of Me, Gimme More, 3, Circus, and the list goes on and on. You can’t deny that her songs are much better than the trash we’re hearing right now.

      • Menchy

The fact that you tried to cite “Womanizer” as an example of a great song just completely ruined your arguement. Did a four year old write the lyrics to that song? “Womanizer woma- womanizer you’re a womanizer, oh womanizer, oh you’re a womanizer” …For real? Britney’s career should have died with that song.

  • j

i will probably buy it lol. There’s a reason she’s famous – her producers know awesome pop when they manufacture it!

  • kat

    omg yes. Blackout 2.0 please

    • Maureen

YES! Blackout in my opinion is Britney’s best album! Hope the new one is similar to it! :)

    • anya

Totally agree! Loved Blackout and would love some more of that type of thing from her!

    • Preston

I liked Blackout. It was just catchy with its dance grooves and icy synths. But Circus really outdid it a year later with its own kinds of dance pop songs.

    • Karikata

I agree kat. Blackout is her best album and was so underated. If her new album is anything like this, I’ll buy it. Circus was a little disappointing though.

      • Julio

i must agree. i miss the old britney. the pop prnisecs. the innocence. the youth. the lil sexiness revealed. but now.. well, her new songs are catchy. but i must say, nothing like the old

      • Jirka

LOL my little guy wluodn’t fall asleep as a baby unless I held him up and danced to rap music. I’m glad I don’t have all those people following me and analyzing my every move, I think I’d go crazy!

  • james

Hurray Indeed. This is really nice news to hear, so excited for some awesome music :) Always love Britney, and its really nice she wrote that on her bday!

    • Masum

Girl! With you on hating both of them. Britney is for sure over! Sure her sielngs go straight to #1 but they also are only there for one week. Lots of hype and people wishing for a comeback shoot it up the shaft but then their disappointment leads to its quick decay. The video is a mess, has nothing to do with the song, and is plain and lazy. So bad.Born This Way is a victim of overhype, I think. Lady GaGa is a genius at marketing her image but she’s so on your face about it and there are too many producers and bloggers saying she’s a goddess that there is nothing to feel but let down by her new song. The lyrics are plain and lack her usual innuendo and excitement. Blah!

  • Buffyjunkie

So excited!!!! Love me some Britney. Here’s hoping that she leaves off the ballads and sticks with the club-thumping tunes. Agree with previous posts about Blackout being the best album. ‘Toy Soldier’ is her greatest song ever!

  • Ellie

I hope the album reflects the true essence of Britney, and it’s called AUTO-TUNE

    • Just Me

      HA!

      • jesse

you know whats funny you make fun of britney for using autotune but ladu gag uses alot more than her so get over it

  • Taylor

Not to get catfighty (yeah right!) but isn’t Gaga’s probably going to come out right after then? Seems like two titans too close together for such a weak part of the year when they probably could space them out more.

    • Christian

Gaga needs to just go away.

  • Cilla

I am so excited about this news. Can’t wait!!!

  • Ken Vail Jr.

I like some of her songs…but I can’t back someone who goes out and tours and lip-syncs, it’s just wrong…

  • Preston

I’m really looking forward to Britney Spears’ new album! Maybe she’s waiting until Katy Perry’s hits heavy album cools down before she steps in her own lane. Rihanna and Kesha as well as Lady Gaga’s upcoming 2011 album may be her tightest competition with the dance pop.

  • Lenny

    PRAISE THE LORD

  • Summer Bay

Yeah! compared to Ke$ha she actually is talented.

    • Blaaaake!

At least Ke$ha writes her own songs and has made it on her own – what exactly have YOU done that is so ground breaking?

      • roger

What does Britney do that is so groundbreaking: Defining Pop. People keep talking about how big Gaga is, but Britney had the last number 1 song. Ke$ha writes trash, not songs. Britney relies on songwriters, but she still delivers the goods. That’s partnership.

    • dipshat

Britney Spears uses auto-tune more than Kesha! She makes Kesha look like Lady Gaga and Lady Gaga look like Madonna! Her songs aren’t even catchy! Yeah!
