Tim Allen could return to ABC with new comedy pilot

Categories: Television, TV Biz

Tim Allen is in talks to star in the comedy pilot Man Up, which has just been given a put pilot order, the network confirms to EW. That means the network would incur substantial penalties if the pilot doesn’t make it to air. Emmy-winning writer Jack Burditt (30 Rock, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Frasier) will pen the script. Allen would star as a man “fighting for his manhood in a world of women.” It would be his first TV series since Home Improvement, which was a top show for ABC during its entire eight-season run.

In September, EW first reported that Allen was looking to stage a return to prime time.
