Country icon Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession yesterday in Texas, according to the AP. A police spokesman said Nelson’s tour bus pulled into a checkpoint on Friday morning and six ounces of marijuana were found in the vehicle.

What a suprise. So this would be news to whom?
SHOCKER!!! why bother charging him…its kind of a given
am i reading NO DUH! magazine here? what a shocker! willie had some pot on him. now, tell me that IN BREAKING NEWS: the earth is round….hahahahaha!
Wish this had a like button lol
We got a wild idea that Willie might like to lead a caravan (a fleet of alrttnaeive fueled vehicles) from Watsonville, CA to Crawford, TX. We are going to Camp Casey with a sculpture installation called Making Tangible an Abstract Measurement of Grief representing all the people who have died because of our occupation of Iraq. We have to make 8,000 more six inch figures as that is how many more have died since this exhibit was set up last Spring. Kathleen Crocetti, sculptor and middle school art teacher, created this piece along with the community helping in making the clay figures and then placing them in the sand base. Bree Walker, the new owner of Camp Casey, is looking forward to having this sculpture as a temporary peace memorial, until she establishes a permanent one. We are going to head for Texas at the end of August or the beginning of September to get it set up for International Day of Peace. We were planning on taking three days with a UHaul, but it would be so much more fun and newsworthy if Willie could lead us, or join us, with his biodiesel bus, good spirit and peace songs. Stephanie
A little late in the game to be charging him now. Where were they like 30 years ago? LOL
, I live in Lampasas and I have 2500 acres with 20 horse stalls, mutpllie pens, and pastures if anyone needs a place to put animals. Message me or call me 512 734 6080. PLEASE RE-POST ASAP!!!!
Bored cops needed to fill a quota, I guess
Word.
They shouldn’t be leaking this, trying poor Mr. Nelson in the press!
Free Willie!!!!
There should be an exemption in federal and state laws for Willie Nelson only. The guy’s an American institution. The cops should leave him alone.
Weed will continue to be illegal until big industry can find a way to make money off ot if. Until then, more arrests for Mr. Willie…::snicker::
He is a gifted man with much hapepniss and an equal amount of sadness. I lost my son at 22 just like Willie has lost a son. The hurt is deep. I thank God for the comfort to make it through. Life is still full of joy though. To God give the victory, not the enemy.
They need to leave Willie alone! At his age it could be for medical reasons. Besides, who cares. WE LOVE WILLIE
If Willie comes out West Virginia way, let me know. Maybe we can get a video of him for the Kucinich campaign and for the Peace Research Institute. I’d be happy to make vdieos for the Peace Research Institute.Love, Hope, Peace, & Christ Be With You,Cal-el
Gosh I hope they throw him in the slammer. What a dangerous criminal! *Rolls eyes* Waste of tax payers money…
This is Texas for you. Willie is a Texas icon and a senior citizen. They should leave him and all other pot smokers alone. When has Willie’s drug use ever resulted in any harm to anyone or any place a la Charlie Sheen and numerous other drinkers/hard drug users. Pot should be legal for private use, period.
I agree, it should be legal, it has a lot of medicinal properties, helps with pain, anxiety, people to eat who have cancer…there are a lot of worse things to worry about…however if you are going to smoke pot…don’t drive..just saying
Agree with u completely.
sounds like they finally got Mr. Big of the Grey Panther cartel.
ps…it’s gonna be tough going for the legalization of weed.
reason #1) religious knuckleheads.
#2) who’s gonna wanna pop the dangerously addictive pills pharmaceutical companies sell for a fortune when you can smoke a bowl for 1/10th the cost? without the freaky side fx? I know I sound like Slater in Dazed and Confused but it’s true. I’d like to quote Willie himself in the pages of EW about 10 years back “it’s good for you…”.
lol what I don’t even
Theres nothing like the relief of fniding what youre looking for.
Free Willy!
Only 6 ounces? They should give him a medal for moderation.
What douche-bag cop would arrest Willie Nelson? With what he’s contributed to American culture, he should have something like diplomatic immunity.
Be honest, it’s not all about Willie Nelson. Weed should be legal and everyone should be able to grow their own like we would lettuce or tomatoes.
Be honest,—aren’t you cops just a little embarrassed????? Is REAL crime that slow in Texas? Oh, just for minute there I forgot the State! When ego’s need shining up,&dusting off; you can rest assured Tex. will oblige….I’m so sure you surprised someone —- somewhere!!!??????
