Image Credit: Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesComedian Dane Cook will make his Broadway debut next spring in Neil LaBute’s comedic play Fat Pig, according to a release from producers of the project. The Coast of Utopia‘s Josh Hamilton will star alongside Cook.
The play — which premiered Off Broadway in 2004 and has been produced in Boston, Los Angeles, and London — is the Broadway directorial debut for LaBute. Fat Pig is a comedy that tells the story of Tom (Hamilton), an eligible bachelor who falls for a lovely, but plus-sized, girl named Helen. Tom’s friend Carter (Cook) forces him to question his values and the importance of good looks. “I’m extremely eager to get into rehearsal with Dane and Josh,” LaBute said. “The ability to cater to your actors is a luxury that comes with being both writer and director. I’m planning on writing new material for this production to enhance the already considerable gifts that these men bring to the characters. I’m very much looking forward to this opportunity to see Fat Pig through fresh eyes.”

So who’s playing Helen? And shouldn’t Mr. LaBute be excited to be working with her, too???
I’ve always wanted to see this play. Is it good?
This play is wonderful and really opens your eyes to care about how people are on the inside and not just there looks. Also you should read LaBute’s “reasons to be pretty”!
*Their
hmmm… dane cooks gonna be in it… well thats all the reason i need to not see it…
So.. it’s safe to assume this won’t be a comedy?
so after every single movie he has been in has failed to make any money….he is bringing the Dane Cook “talent” to brodway?
Can’t we just get him cast in that Spiderman musical so I can have another reason not to see that?
He has been in has failed to make any money….he is bringing the Dane Cook “talent” to brodway
He should be on one of EW’s lists–the most “overrated”.
I will only see this if Dane Cook is nude in it. His body is the only thing Dane Cook has going for him.
You are all haters
