Jessica Simpson will marry free agent NFL player Eric Johnson, People reports. The couple began dating in May after the two were introduced by friends.
Just last week, Simpson’s ex Nick Lachey proposed to Vanessa Minnillo.

LOL. but he’s probably been plotting this all along. even if he signs a prenup, he can still mooch some significant money off her and her family.
So they only met 6 months ago, when he was still married. His divorce just became final and as a topper he is currently unemployed. I suppose the fact that Nick Lachey announced his engagement last week has nothing to do with this? Good luck Jessica, you’re going to need it. Oh, and get Eric to sign a prenup.
She couldn’t be anymore desperate. She said she was happy for Nick and Vanessa, and yet a week later announces her own engagement? Even if it was a truly romantic thing, why announce it right away? And yeah, we all know he’s a guy using her, and she’s desperate and sad. It’s really sad to hear her do this. Pre-nup indeed, her money is the only reason guys would touch her at this point.
I was sitting in the Dr. office this morning reading an old People magazine. Not that old really, because it was the issue previewing alll of the new fall shows. And they had an article on Jessica and some other guy on vacation, specualting they were going to get married. Can’t remember his name, but it wasn’t Eric Johnson.

I can remember also sitting in a doctors office and they had old, I mean really old people magazines. I read an article about Julia Roberts. She had just married Lyle Lovett and she declared that he was the love of her life. I get the impression this marriage will be the same as that one.
No matter her intention or the free agent’s one, I wish her well.

It’s so pathetic. Obviously she threw a hissy fit when Nick announced his nuptuals and her loser boyfriend took pity on her. Of course, her boyfriend doesn’t have a job or monehy, but hey, that’s not an indicator of anything is it? They’ve known each other for 5 months, how long do you think this train wreck will last? Remember, everything Jessica does ends in failure.

No offense, but her boyfriend went to Yale and played for five years in the NFL, where he probably made more money than you ever will. I don’t care for Jessica Simpson any more than anyone else does, but to dismiss her fiance as having “no job or money” is just hilarious in a ridiculous sort of way.

This reminds me of the “Friends” episode when Ross is marrying the British chick, and Rachel decides that she and the guy played by Tate Donovan need to get married in response. She’s all, “Let’s do something CRAZY! We never do anything crazy – hey, let’s, I dunno, GET MARRIED!”
