'Sex and the City' writer Michael Patrick King returns to TV with hairdresser comedy at NBC

Tags: , , TV

Beleaguered network NBC has snagged a Shampoo-like, hour-long comedy spec script from Sex and the City showrunner Michael Patrick King, Deadline reports.  It follows a straight hairdresser in his 50s struggling to stay relevant in Los Angeles. King has a history with NBC (he served as consulting producer on Will & Grace) and with awesome hairdresser characters (on HBO’s The Comeback).

    I. Loved. The Comeback.

One of TV’s most underrated and underappreciated gems.

If it’s anything like The Comeback I’ll be tuning in.

Great premise. I’ll watch. Sounds better than anything else on NBC.

As long as he doesn’t try to turn it into a movie franchise, I’ll check it out. Can’t stand what he did to Sex and the City with those “films”.
