True Blood creator Alan Ball is returning to the big screen. Ball developed an idea for a dark comedy with screenwriter Elan Mastai, who’s sold the pitch to Paramount. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ball will produce as well as direct the untitled film. The plot of the movie is under wraps. Deadline, which first reported the news, says to expect a big twist.

Wish I hadn’t read that. I find my favorite twists usually come when I have no idea beforehand there’s supposed to be a twist. When you know there’s a twist, you involuntarily spend your time trying to figure it out, instead of just enjoying the movie.
