When I found out there was going to be a zombie T.V. series on AMC, I took the bait seeing that I’m a huge horror genre fan. The fictional horror genre as a television series is a rare treat.
It was the scene of the guy aiming his sniper rifle at his zombie wife…and not being able to fire at her that reeled me in.
It’s a shame there will only be 6 episodes this season. It’s starting off great.

Are all episodes an hour and half? Then that’s like 9 normal episodes. Either way… fantastic show. I’m hooked. The sniper scene was amazing.

Boy, did this suck! The cop is inexcusable in his stupidity. The effects are real good, and it’s probably the most graphicly violent show I’ve ever seen on TV but the continuity and lack of research sucked. Sure, I can suspend disbelief, but…

    Major spoiler alerts ahead,

The cop is shot and is intermittantly in and out of consciousness all the while the entire national guard is deployed to combat the zombies attack while he’s sleeping/comatose/whatever and he wakes up to a completely devastated society?!?! That’s a hell of a gunshot.

He encounters the half body of a dead woman that is crawling and hissing and he is still unphased.

He fails to identify himself as an officer involved in a gunfight while being questioned at gunpoint?! Not officer material.

Knowing that noise will raise the dead, he shows up at an abandoned ranch and immediately starts calling out for someone instead of drawing a gun and stealthily checking out the vacinity.

He looks for the keys to a truck but decides that a horse is a better way to travel?

Upon arriving on top of a hill overlooking Atlanta he sees that the outbound lanes are clogged with cars with no life and the completely open inbound lanes (because in times of a cataclysmic disaster I’m going to follow the rules and ignore the 4 open inbound lanes while trying to escape for my life, seriously?!) are available for travel.

Then, he decides it’s a good idea to venture into the city, which I’m sure is not teeming with thousands of zombies, because you’re a police officer with a horse and you’re impervious.

Shocking, there are thousands of blood thirsty zombies which intern eat your horse and you barely escape with your life.

During said escape, you use your Smith and Wesson J-Frame .357 to kill 5 zombies before thinking about offing yourself before finding the escape hatch in the tank serreptitiously open. Upon entering you find a dead soldier who wakes up and you use the same S&W .357 to kill him. Which is funny because an S&W J-Frame .357 only holds 5 rounds and that mysterious 6th round is the life saver, ok. (yeah, I count shots because I shoot real guns and know the reality of saving ammo).

The cops wife is hooked up with his original partner?! Why was it he who delivered the flowers to him in the hospital and not her? Why wouldn’t she have followed up with her husband who was in critical condition in times of crisis?

The black guy who nursed the cop back to health, along with his son, have holed up in a house with a mini arsenal in case of trouble. The guy heads upstairs and starts shooting random zombies in hopes that his ex-wife (zombie) will show up. Why would you bring that much attention to you because, “noise raises the dead”. If it were me, I would have had the kid safely stowed away at another residency and have pursued my target practice well away from my only remaining family, shooting only the intended victim.

Then the wife/zombie shows up and I can’t, cry, cry, cry, pull the trigger because she’s my wife. News flash, she’s the walking undead, a zombie, a flesh eating creature that has no feelings or memory of her previous life, a bullet is a blessing but yet you wuss out. Pathetic.

The cop stuck in the tank recieves a mysterious broadcast from an unknown source, because the public can break into a military accessed frequency with no problems.

I’m sorry, I love Frank Durabont’s work but there are just too many things that were not researched properly and too many empty holes. Loved the effects, hated the story and continuity. I will pass on the rest of the season.

Wow, you must be a really fun person to hang out with…. What an idiot!

I did enjoy the show. I would love if Caprica could move over to AMC. It seems like this network allows shows to develop and isnt afraid of real sci fi.

Gosh I am 62, watched it loved it, but appartently I am in a demographic that doesn’t count.

  • Lucy

just watched it last night as I recorded it and it was AWESOME!!!!

  • Del Taco

next episode, zombies decide they like horse meat better than human meat. Ignore humans, zombies start snacking on horses and ponies. Human race is saved !!! The End. PETA then sues AMC.

Can’t wait to watch it. TiVo’d it Halloween night and was excited to watch it then but damn dvr didn’t record it. Looked for upcoming episodes but weirdly there were none until before episode #2. Oh well, will have a back to back screening I guess.

You can also watch it on AMC’s website if you can’t find on cable.

Thank you for some other wonderful article. Where else may just anybody get that type of info in such a perfect method of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m at the look for such information.

  • facebook fans

You really make it seem really easy with your presentation however I find this matter to be really one thing that I think I would by no means understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am taking a look forward for your subsequent submit, I’ll try to get the cling of it!
